I bought this for a friend to watch when recovering from surgery. Was a great success. Actors gave great performances.

Good value for two series!
I have purchased several copies of “Outlander” during the past year so that I can send them to family and friends to let them know what a brilliant series it is. This DVD of two of the series together in one box was good value.

Season One - Yes, well...
High production values and solid acting make up for a rather “clunky” script and a far-fetched plot. The voice-over narrative is a real mistake. It’s totally unnecessary and distances you from becoming truly involved in the action. The excessive sex and violence aren’t exactly very progressive either in these modern times. Still I’ll watch Season Two before deciding if enough’s enough.

Outlander Day and being anti-social with it.
I really love this series of books but didn't have access to Amazon to watch the TV series. Was elated when it started on terrestrial TV. But then I got too impatient to wait for next episode on More 4 so bought the box set. Loved it. Phone was off, curtains drawn, plenty of munchies, and feet up. WOW so many hours to watch and enjoy. Sometimes being anti-social and not answering your front door can be a totally awesome way to spend a whole day. LOL. As for Outlander itself, even though it was a little slow in places, the rest of the story made up for it. Series One, Episodes 15 & 16, set at Wentworth Prison are a little harrowing to watch, especially episode 16, but are played by all the actors really well. Series two, I didn't feel was a good as Series one, it was really slow in places and I couldn't wait until they got back to the Highlands, but FAITH was heart breaking, no spoilers why though. Can't wait for series three to come out on DVD, as I still can't get Amazon Prime. I don't have good enough Broadband access.

I love Outlander - think the whole thing is brilliant and so interesting. Costumes are so beautiful and I love hearing all about how they are made, based on traditional Scottish weaving, dyeing etc. Very interesting casting - and although I hate violence I think the scenes of torture are handled well. I feel that it is very 'out there' and am surprised about some of the happenings depicted in such detail. Certainly after the 9.00 watershed placing is necessary. What I can't understand is why it hasn't been such more in the public domain. In many ways it is much better and more interesting than Poldark which seems static in comparison but unless I have missed it I haven't seen much comment about it.I have only watched Series 1 - can't watch too much at once as I might miss something and I wouldn't be able to sleep after all the gorgeousness of Jamie (and Claire - she is stunning).

OUTLANDER - A CRACKING SERIES
Just ordered series 3, need I say more, absolutely brilliant acting, great story and fantastic locations, you buy in to the story right from the off and then it's hard not to just keep watching each episode as there are so many twists and turns in the story line. Very graphic in places and the feeling of having a strong stomach helps, but without these parts, then the action would have been just another mundane plot to watch when you have the time. be aware of some of the adult scenes are not for younger viewers, we were recommended this series by friends and my wife was none too keen to watch it at first, but once in to the story & the plots it was payed from start to finish in a short time, we both cannot wait for March 5th when the series 3 is released
