Rubie's Indiana Jones Leather Whip

Good quality for the price. My son enjoys playing with it and its not what I'd consider dangerous -does not "whip" very well. The only problem I had was the the lower lanyard broke, but was no dig deal I just tied it in a knot.

I ordered this for my 5 year old son who has become a huge Indiana Jones fan. It would have been good to know that on the product tag, it says not for children under 14!! Didn't see that anywhere on the product description, but otherwise...pretty cool. Especially for the price. This is a REAL WHIP! The finish is coming off a little and the loop handle has broken, but, eh...who cares. My little guy loves it and carries it everywhere. You can "snap" it in the air and it stings quite badly if you are in that "snap range", lol. Wouldn't recommend letting small children get hold of this as my two year old picked it up and, as my son says, "Pow Whammed It" in the air like an expert. My husband had a whelp to show for that. We keep it rolled up and tied with a ratchet strap tie thing and he wears it on his side or carries it in his Indy pack. Just wish I had known it wasn't a "TOY" whip, and shouldn't be purchased for little kids. He's still enjoying it in rolled up form though.

A couple of years ago, our daughter informed me that Ethan (one of our grandson's) was going to be Indiana Jones for Halloween. Well, this was fine, as I had provided him with an Indy-style fedora and a real leather Indy-child size, Indy Jacket. But, he wanted to borrow my whip. No, said I, I don't think he would (he was six at the time) be able to carry around a ten foot Australian bullwhip, so I looked to Amazon and they had the answer, thus the order. Worked perfectly and while I would not rate this as an educational toy, or one to really play with, as such -- it does make a great prop for a kid wanting to be 'Indy' on Halloween! Great buy, great service and just ok and reasonably safe, otherwise, I would not have purchased. Thanks Amazon! W>

Pretty realistic looking in person. Acts like a real whip. Sturdy.Couldn't really tell you why this is a toy and not a caddle tool.You may whip yourself in the face a few times while you're learning to snap your wrist, but that's not the whips fault. Maybe wear a sports mask if you got one.*Don't use in the house if your wife has nice things.

Its a cool toy, gives the whip crack my son was wanting. But after a little while (1 day of play by an 8 year old) it started to unravel. Fixed it quick but expected it to last a little longer.

My 6 year old grandson loves this one. We originally ordered the kids hat and whip. The hat says for kids but it did not fit my grandson's 21" head and the child's whip was made out of felt and tore in half in the first 10 minutes of use. This one still working just fine. Can't say his sister's are too safe but he loves it!

I bought this whip for my sons fifth birthday, He's a 35 pound Indiana Jones super fan! I made him a whip a few months ago out of some leather strips I harvested out of some old belts I had, I spent many, many hours braiding, making a hilt, and handle for it, he told me it would do until his birthday, at that time I had to purchase the real thing. Got to love him, anyway, he used the homemade one hard, I'm talking about tying it it to tree limbs, swinging hard, never failed, his IJ replica made it two weeks until it snapped in half, very dissatisfied,i don't get to see him that often, Divorce,and the look on his face when he visited me last Sunday,with half a whip in each hand, well it broke my heart! I realize its a toy, but it was real to him!

Feels kind of plastic but for this price you only get a prop to play with anyway.
