I weigh a good deal more than my husband, but when I need help rising from the sofa or chair, we use this device, and his little body pulls me right up. Very useful!

I keep multiple handy
This has been a godsend. I've used is many time to get my mom up after a fall. I get her into position with her sitting as upright as possible with her legs in front of her, knees bent as much as she's able then I put my toes against hers and count to three. In one continuous motion I lean back, pulling hard as she pulls herself up and forward until she is upright.This tool is a true lifesaver!

Didn't work for me
I bought this at the suggestion of a home health physical therapist to aid in helping my husband out of bed. Since he outweighs me by 100 lbs, he ended up pulling me down instead of my pulling him up. I'm donating it and hoping that someone will be able to use it.
