Bigger, faster than Vera Edge. Possibly still the best all-round z-wave controller, though that doesn't mean it's great!
This is my third Vera controller. I started with the Lite, then moved to the Edge. My Edge was playing up very badly just before Christmas and Vera support were struggling to make sense of it, so I took the opportunity to upgrade to the new Plus. Edge was becoming pretty slow and error-prone anyway as I added devices (already 40+ z-wave) and other automation hooks (Alexa, Imperihome, weather and other cloud data feeds), so Plus's faster CPU and bigger RAM should help.Rebuilding a z-wave network to a new controller (as Edge had by this point completely trashed it) is a pain in the proverbial, but once done the Plus is ticking along pretty well.It still has Vera's poor web UI with the dashboard that can't be customized and has so much rubbish at the top that you don't see your devices until pretty much the second page. It is more responsive as expected and the addition of bluetooth hopefully will be useful. So might Zigbee, if it could talk to many devices but Zigbee is not as standard as z-wave so support for new devices takes even more work and time - and Vera are already more than slow enough at supporting new z-wave devices! Wifi seems to support a few lightbulbs, mostly via their own gateways rather than directly - not really much use at all. I would view this as a z-wave controller with some potential, not by any means an all-rounder yet.Vera's Android and iOS apps are awful. They tell me that they're going to focus soon on improving those... so I'll expect something around 2021 ;-) Use alternative dashboard apps (Imperihome is my fave) and Alexa integration if you want to avoid the Vera user interfaces.Physically, it's quite large compared to Vera Edge, looks rather like a double-sized version. Perhaps one effect of this (I've not looked inside) is that the antenna may be larger; the z-wave range is nothing short of impressive compared to Edge. Devices that Edge struggled to maintain comms with, Plus was able to pair - even in secure mode - without moving the controller from its home position about 7-8m and a couple of brick walls away from the devices. That is really good news, especially when rebuilding an installed network as I was.Frankly, I wouldn't have bought another Vera as nCube and some of the other newer controllers look great and are more future-proof, but I want the ability to connect with Imperihome, Alexa and more and to add hooks of my own and only Vera does all this reasonably well in one package... for now.So, nice one Vera Control - better than any previous Vera, still a lot of areas where improvement would be great to see.

The retail box is broken and dirty as well
You guys don’t believe it but it wasn’t any packaging for the original retail box. This is totally unacceptable for any items. The retail box is broken and dirty as well. It wasn’t just a mistake, the box are open, I don’t know the all the item’s stuff are in the box or not. No any protection AND NO ANY LOCKING STICKERS ON IT!The Vera... first of all is not easy as it is communicated. Not easy to configurate, and many times I felt this is not thinked over as well. The open kind is not too open, if your Z-wave stuff not in the list, there is no any possibilities to install it real properly. I didn’t find any guide to install Neo Coolcam products but is advertised like SO EASY TO INSTALL IT FOR VERA. There is no, not that easy. And I didnt find any possibilities to configurating the wifi for vera. Bit disappointed.

Vera Plus not a serious HA system!
This product still needs to grow a lot! Coming from a Fibaro HC2 (Hardware failure unfortunately) i had to buy something urgently to replace the HC2 temporarily. Unfortunately the Vera is very slow and unresponsive even with a single light and scene and just isn't viable for proper HA! Even after support spent almost 3 weeks they "Identified" my problem but could not say when they will work on a fix????

Beware upgrading the firmware on this unit could render it useless!
Arrived in good time from Amazon. Was working out of the box however after a required firmware upgrade (performed about 20 minutes after initial setup!) the unit was rendered useless. Research on the Vera forum revealed the cause of this was a botched firmware release originating from around mid Dec 2017. We are now in Jan 2018 and it is unbelievable that this firmware is still being pushed out by them.More trouble than it was worth - Returned to Amazon for refund.

Box not sealed, connected and it asked for a firmware update, stalled midway and since then unable to connect again an drendered useless. Searched many forums and seems like a common problem. Its a shame as it was recomended to me by a few people. Returned back to amazon
