Organic Henna Hair Dye, 200g

I ordered this product as I was desperate to go back to using natural henna after a few years of chemical red dyes had wrecked my hair (and didn't give as nice a colour as henna either). I always used natural henna in the past (for over 10 years) - mainly buying the Body Shop's henna. About 5 years ago I was foolishly persuaded by a hairdresser to try chemical dye and then thought I was stuck having to use chemical dyes forever as I believed that you couldn't use henna on hair that had been chemically dyed. My hair was in a bad state from all the chemical dye so my lovely husband did some more research and found that pure henna could in fact go over chemically dyed hair, providing it really was pure henna and did not have any other chemicals in the mix. I decided to try Renaissance henna from the good reviews on Amazon - really hoping that my hair wouldn't go green... And it was great! A lovely rich red colour on my fair/grey hair and no problems covering the areas that had previously been chemically-dyed. My hair is also in better condition already, after only one application. I am definitely going to continue using Renaissance henna.Update: I have been using this henna for 4years now. Excellent product. For me, personally, I have found I get a richer red by making up the mix well in advance and then leaving it (covered in a bowl with cling film in a dark, warm place) for at least 24 hrs. If I do this, I can see the red dye forming on the surface of the mix and I get a stronger red when I apply it to my hair.I have also found that I can freeze any unused mixture once made up - I just put it in a sealed freezer bag and then defrost and apply when needed. It has worked well both times I have done this and has given a lovely rich red result.

Having become allergic to chemical dyes and not wanting to give in to grey I am now using Henna. This is a really good quality Henna you can just feel it as you mix it. I have found it covers grey 100% . I leave it on for about 6 hours or overnight but the instructions say 2 hours will do. I then follow with indigo to get a rich colourI have just bought some Acacia Catechu which is supposed to get a more browny colour and look forward to trying it. The colour I have with henna and indigo is quite coppery and although it looks great it does clash with a lot of colours in my wardrobe.I would definitely recommend this as a great alternative to chemical dyes and 100% grey coverage.Efficient delivery too and helpful advise from the seller when I had a question

I bought this henna to try to dye my homemade lip balms but I did not succeed unfortunately. the quality seems very fine though and it is very well packaged. still thinking of some other purpose for it as I do not dye my hair.

Messy but good-lovely shine to hair. If you exercise and sweat-beware-it comes out on clothes!!!!

The instructions were easy to follow and the method was straightforward and the advice that it was foolproof, if but a little messy and takes a while were accurate, although you can minimise the mess if you do the colour in the shower and just wash everything away once you have finished. So in that scenario there was no mess to speak of and I followed the tip of using boiling water so I could use the mix more or less straightaway and I used a hair dryer to speed up the drying time. I will buy this product again.

Excellent product! Having never used Henna before I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to use with minimal mess or fuss! Of course I had done all the prep like having gloves/cling film/towels etc. But the time it took to develop was probably the most difficult because of the anticipation to see the results, no other reason. The colour was simply fab, abd having chemically dyed my hair for years my hair is so soft, bouncy and feels absolutely nourished even after using this 5 weeks ago! I can't speak highly enough of this product and when mixed smells like fresh grass, it's so pure. I would say that any unused henna should kept in an air tight container and used within the time stated on the pack. Brilliant!!

This henna achieves a lovely warm tone (I find conventional dyes can have metallic and flat looking reds and browns) and covers all grey without damaging my hair with a bleach like conventional dyes. I use Indigo leaf for 15mins after the henna to tone down the red and it works a treat. Because it doesn't dry out the hair I can use every 4 weeks for root regrowth- one packet gives me 3 applications. The customer service from Sabrina was outstanding when I had a query on postage. The instructions on the packets are clear. Excellent products and a friendly customer focused service, very happy.

It is my second attempt at dying my hair with henna. The first time I bought it from a local shop and it was really not successful - as in I saw no change at all. I have only three white hairs and even those remained white. For the second attempt I used this product and my hair is now red - so I am really happy. The hair feels really soft and it has a lovely shine. The instructions on the packet are great. I have shoulder length hair and I used maybe 1/4 of the product. I left it overnight and from medium to dark brown it is now mahagony red.
