Ensure that my car starts smoothly throughout the winter when I rarely use it
The Oxford products OF949 Solariser is a solar charger that I use to keep my Mini car's battery in good condition. My car is parked a few streets away from my home, so I need a reliable trickle charger that can work without mains power. The Solariser can be mounted on a window, a roof, or the dashboard (but make sure it is secure before driving!) It has a LED indicator that shows the charging status. It performs well on sunny days, but can struggle a little on cloudy or rainy days. It is only suitable for healthy batteries, not for dead or damaged ones. The charger comes with three connection options: a cigarette plug, crocodile clips, and ring ends. The cigarette plug only works if the socket is always on, not just when the ignition is on. The other two options connect directly to the battery terminals. The Solariser is a good product, but it is not perfect. The installation was challenging on my car, because the connector end was too big to fit through the bulkhead. I had to run the wires along the wing and over the B-post, which looked messyOverall, I am happy with the Solariser. It is a cost-effective, portable, versatile, and eco-friendly charger. It should help prolong the life and performance of my battery, and ensure that my car starts smoothly throughout the winter when I rarely use it.

Better than I thought
I was sceptical on this, but for the sake of 30 quid I thought I'd give it a go.I have a shipping container that I rent as no garage at home. The motorbike is kept in there as well as a few other things (one being a car) that require battery topping up / trickle charging. I was using a leisure battery with an invertor, then the trickle charger which worked, but I was having to charge it at home every 5 to 7 days - not usually a problem but living in the countryside and home to unit is 45 minutes apart...it was getting a bit of a pain. I needed to keep charge to the bike as the tracker would discharge after 3 weeks or so, or I would have pulled the main fuse and left it locked up.When this arrived, I glued a little button magnet in each corner and threw it ontop of the container. I needed a couple of the extension leads to get power to the back and threaded it all along the top loops inside the unit. Plugged it all in with the crocodile clips ontop the battery (I wasn't going to hard wire it just yet incase it turned out to be more than useless). Left it for a few days and returned back to the unit.Battery in perfect condition and fully charged up. Both car and bike - I bought one to start with and tried it on the car then bought another after swapping them over the following week to test it on the bike. What a fantastic product and has solved all my woes at once. I can now leave it for weeks on end and not worry about it discharging at all. The friend who recommended it to me knows someone who has hooked it up to a leisure battery and now runs lights off it for when he's in his unit (He has the same rental unit of a shipping container) - this will be my next project and my third purchase of one when I get around to doing that.Highly recommended, if like me you were sceptical then in the immortal words of Nike - Just do it. You won't be disappointed, even with 2 extension leads attached it still manages to get enough power to the battery to keep the bike topped up. Great bit of kit.

Cost-effective battery maintenance
Purchased to charge my motorcycle battery for free via solar power rather than using a mains trickle charger.Pro's:*Only cost is the upfront purchase. Solar power charging is free thereafter.*Blinking LED light on front confirms when it is receiving UV rays and is therefore working. Works in low light conditions too.*Highly portable as no wall socket needed*Versatile mounting options - has suction cups plus holes for wall mounting.*The lead is a good lengthCons: only 1*Connections (croc clips and ring ends) are, in my opinion, inconvenient methods of connecting to the battery for my needs. My bike has an alarm so I needed to be able to connect the charger whenever the bike is not in use to avoid draining the battery. I overcame this by connecting a quick connector to the battery (to save disconnecting the battery to charge it as it's not the most accessible) and snipping the end off the solariser and crimping on a corresponding quick connector. I can connect/disconnect the charger in seconds without removing the seat or battery - very handy especially if it's raining out. If the charger came with such an adapter as standard, this product would have five stars.Does it work? Yes - Having not used the bike for several weeks whilst having the solariser attached, a test with a multimeter showed the battery was recieving a charge as it was at 100%.Should you buy one? Yes, especially if the battery is on a vehicle that may not be used frequently. One of these is cheaper than a replacement battery.

Swift postage and good product.
My Oxford charger came very swiftly, well packaged for postage and with all the leads, accessories and instruction manual. It's very simple to set up and instructions even a money with a rock wouldn't find difficult to fit.I haven't used it yet or fit it to the bike (I'll be using the supplied permanent attachments when I do) but as soon as I took it out the box the blue LED light started to flash indicate it was charging which impressed me as I was in my dimly lit livingroom so I have good faith in this working well in the lock up where my bike is stored. The only slightly negative point I can make is there is quite a few small chips and scratches on the panel itself. I haven't marked down for this as it's because of how OXFORD have packaged it with all the connections loose in the plastic package which is then inside a cardboard box. Not the seller who, packaged it well for postage. Just a note to yourself to make sure any marks like mine are cosmetic and the LED light indicates it is happy to charge in natural light. All in all very happy with the product and the seller's service. Highly recommended - 5stars.Thank you.

Impressed with Quality
Works just as advertised. Purchased this in conjunction to theOXFORD STORMEX cover and keeps my battery topped off! Bike has been outside for 3 months, in VERY cold weather here in NY. Had a rare 50 degree day and started right up,no problem. Comes with all necessary hardware to permanently or temporarily hook up your battery to the solar panel. Has a flashing blue LED indicating that panel is charging the battery. THIS PANEL KEEPS HEALTHY BATTERIES CHARGED DURING STORAGE. Direct sunlight works best, but I’ve seen it charge on cloudy days as well. Great option if your storing your bike outside.

Works great
Have had this a couple weeks now and works well. Keeps my battery topped off. I read in some reviews that it needs direct sunlight, but works on a cloudy day as well as when the sun is not directly over it. Time will tell on how long it lasts as I read some reviews say that it stopped working after some time.
