you get what you pay for. chain broke after only a couple wears and I am veryyy careful with my jewelry. cross is pretty though.edit: the company was kind enough to send me a replacement and this one hasnt broken. thank you!

I love the size of this double-sided board. It's my new 'go-to' cutting board for just about everything, and I like the size of the cutting area. The bamboo board measures 15-1/2" x 11-5/8", and it's less messy for chopping vegetables than my old wooden board. So, larger size = less sweeping up little bits from my countertop. The bamboo is rock-hard compared to my wood board, and doesn't show any scarring. It also doesn't absorb liquids as much, and also dries up quicker for storage after washing. I haven't used the routed channel for juices yet, but it's deep enough to catch things and keep them off my countertop. The channel is routed directly across the handle slot, so if I were doing something really messy, it'd require a paper towel to keep things from leaking out. I consider that a minor design flaw, though. I carved up an 11 lb. roasted turkey on this the other day, and there was plenty of room to work on it. The two plastic cutting mats have come in handy for a few things - one for butchering raw poultry, and since I didn't need two, I put the other one into use as a dividing protector for my ceramic bakeware. The non-slip bottom side of the mats work very well, and keep their grip as long as there's some downward pressure when cutting. They're not 'perfect', but they're a nice bonus to this package, and they clean up easily. Overall, I'm really happy with this set - especially the large bamboo board. It's nicely finished, heavy-duty, not overly thick and heavy, washes and dries quickly, and is less porous than wood for sanitary reasons. Lastly, I like the larger size because I can hang it over the edge of my countertop a little bit, and easily sweep away things like carrot ends, etc. into my wastebasket for quicker work.

100% would recommend! It's pretty high quality for such a low price! The chain is adjustable, shiny, and looks dainty. The cross is perfect—shines in the light, perfect size, just great! I'm disappointed in the bamboo cutting board because it has a rough feel especially around the handle and on the sides. It's like the maker didn't take the time to properly finish this cutting board. The instructions recommend before using this board to rub some olive oil or other food grade oil on this board to protect the finish. I'll also be getting out some fine sandpaper to hopefully give this a bit better feel on the sides and the handle. This cutting board is large enough plus I like the groove that runs along the borders although juices can still drip off around the handle. This also comes with 2 flexible plastic cutting boards. Each plastic cutting board has a smooth side and a textured side. I have no problems with them and like the flexibility these plastic boards give to be able to lift them up with what I've chopped and push the sides up to make it easier to pour into a bowl or pan. These plastic boards do have enough firmness to them that it's easier to push the sides up width-wise than length-wise. My rating is 3 stars because of the roughness of the bamboo cutting board.

Makes a nice gift. Also, not worried about losing it since it was a good deal.Feels sturdy, looks great on too. Perfect for any age since it is so petit.
