I love this, but had to wait quite a long time for it to arrive.
You do have to charge the mechanism at the top separately with the USB port no big deal. If you unscrew it and turn it off after it vacuums, it will help save the life of the battery. I do not bother I’ve only had to charge mine once In the past couple weeks. I wish this product had a hinge on one side instead of two flaps it allows you to take the whole thing off but every time I try to lift it on one side to get a scoop the whole top comes undone. It’s not an big deal just something that would make this product even a little better for me. It does come with the food scoop. The size of the scoop seems to be an odd feeding size it holds 3/4 of a cup . I figured it would just be one full cup or half cup like other a dog food containers I have purchased before.

Updated: Broken latches, doesn’t seal :(
Updated: Purchased in March, it’s now August, so have only used this for 5 months. Both the plastic latches on the lid have broken which makes it a hassle to close & seal. The seal also will not hold without the latches. I tried to get support from the manufacturer to replace the lid but the support window on Amazon has closed. Very disappointed.Bought this to keep the 10 lb bags of Royal Canin dog food we buy fresher for longer, as our dachshund eats less than 1 c per day. The first time we opened a new bag to fill the container, there was about 1 lb left over that didn’t fit. Kind of annoying but just using the leftover up first before going into the container for feedings. Sharing here as storage capacity may vary depending on food brand. Otherwise the vacuum seal function seems to work fine. We leave out on a countertop so lifting/moving (lack of handles) is not an issue.

Very good for the price
I really like this container, the battery lasts really long and keeps the food fresher longer. No complaints!

The pump stops working
The pump stops working after recharging, it only emits a beep and lights up in different colors, and I can't find a way to make it work.

Not holding a charge, vacuum doesn’t last
The reviews were so great, I didn’t hesitate a minute to purchase the Petkit Vacube. I don’t know why it’s not working for me. I pull my puppy’s food out at night, and double press, and it works. Then I go to take out the food the next day, the lid pops right off- no vacuum, doesn’t release any air when I pull the orange button. I double press and it turns orange, the puck is sitting evenly and It’s not holding the charge, I’m trying to charge it up again. I’ve already charged it overnight. Really wanted to love this. Third picture was after a full night 8 hours of charging. Still orange. Did I get a dud?I want to change my review to a 5 star. My lid was damaged, the clips on the side were too loose. The PETKIT company sent me a new lid, and it works perfectly now. Flashes blue after the double tap, and stays sealed until I release the air. So happy with this product, and what a great follow thru from PETKIT. They really went above and beyond to make sure it worked properly and I appreciate it very much!

Not super worth it
I was very excited to get something that was going to keep my cat's food clean and bug-free and fresh however pretty immediately after I got it I was always having trouble with it not sealing properly it would seal fine when I clicked it but then I would come back a couple hours later and it would be open. The size of it is very small it's quite loud it's terrifying every time it goes off The charge doesn't hold for super long and then fairly recently the handles broke off it's just honestly it sounds cool and you want to be a cool pet parent and a good pet parent and get them the best things and because it's expensive and sounds fancy you think it's the best thing but honestly just go for something else.

Great product! But be aware of keeping seals clean.
I initially gave this 5-stars because it's brilliantly conceived and well designed product that looks great and works well. And it really is excellent overall. Not all reports if it not holding a vacuum should be deal breakers as I'll explain.But.. you SHOULD be prepared to do some light maintenance if stops holding a vacuum. Not hard, if you understand what's going on, but isn't mentoned in the user's manual. If it stops holding a vacuum, don't panic, you probably just need to clean it, which is not difficult. I will explain below.HANDLING THE CONTAINER:If you're working with dry pet food, there may be particles. Depending on where you store it there may be dust. There may be pet hairs. Keep your hands when handling it, and try to avoid touching the rims or seals as much as possible.Any hair, dust, food particles, debris, or stuff on hands that gets between the seals and the lid or rim will prevent it from holding a vacuum, even if it holds a vacuum initially. You may come back a morning or three later and find the lid comes off and there was no vacuum. To avoid this problem:I remove the lid carefully and set it aside on another counter (seal side up). I don't touch the seal or the container rim. I'm conscious of not contaminating the seal at any stage of removing the food, putting the food back, and closing it, and remain aware that even the tiniest of hairs or dust or food particles will keep it from holding a vacuum.CLEANING THE SEALS (IF / WHEN NEEDED):This is how I was able to restore the vacuum/sealing. (Should be documented in the user manual).Cleaning it isn't hard, but you have to be careful, thorough and attentive. All of the sealing rubber pops off and goes back on easily. There are only three, the main seal around the lid where it sits on top of the container, and a seal where the vacuum pump goes and a vent seal where you release the vacuum to open the list. The three seals are a soft rubber or silicone and not hard to work with.Lacking any product instructions for this, to clean it, I've used a moistened paper towel with the *smallest* fraction of a smidge of a drop of dish soap and gone around the main seal around a few times, pressing into grooves, and inspecting it closely under turned-up lights to see that it's really clean (the tiniest spec of dust or hair is enough to keep it from maintaining a vacuum). Similarly I then go over the rim of the container be sure it's clean.Besides the main lid seal there are 2 circular orange silicone rubber inserts are easy to pop out, clean and reinsert. I just wash them in a little soap under running water. Then I dry everything and push them back into to the hole. (Just remember which of the two circular seals goes in which location. That's important. The seal with the circular ridges is goes on the top of the lid. It's the one you pull to release the vacuum. It goes ridges side up at that location. Don't put it in upside down, or put where the circular seal under the the removable vacuum pump goes or it won't hold a vacuum.NOTE TO PRODUCT DESIGNER / MANUFACTURER:Besides the once a day check-for-vacuum / brief re-pump you'd done to maintain the vacuum over time,it should *also*, even more frequently, check to see if vacuum insufficient (e.g. below expected levels, as though leaking), which would sets off a subtle alarm or notification - a *very* quiet or subtle chirp perhaps that would go off at some interval like ones every 15 seconds to minute or two,, that would alert the user that there's an issue (for example, that the seals need cleaning). That way it wouldn't be potentially sitting for days without a vacuum and letting its cargo (like expensive cat food) be exposed to air. That's the reason people got it in the first place and food isn't cheap.
