bought this for xmas dinner must say takes the stress away when you have this keeping your food warm,bigger than i thought so that was good got more food in there,before i bought it wasnt sure the food warmer at the bottom had saucer plates or dinner but its dinner size plates so you get a fair bit in there.im very happy with my purchase first time ive used it so next time i may put meats on top rather than the bottom as the bottom is warmer than the top so it slightly dried the meat even when i had tin foil on it,im sure the more you use it get better accustomed to it.igave 4stars rather than 5 as i thought all areas would have the same heat but the bottom is warmer unless it depends what you put in it,i did put mash in there it was tepid but i suppose not the best think to keep warm ie things with sauces maybe better and meats etc,would recommend good quality.

My new heat tray arrived promptly, very well packed and in perfect condition (no broken parts as someone previously experienced).It has come in very handy over Christmas when both my ovens were in use. The 3 pyrex dishes are large and fairly shallow, quite unlike my traditional covered pyrex dishes. The dishes hold a good amount, a bit too big for just 2 people though. When used as a plate warmer, the plates should be put in before the warmer is switched on - takes about 20/30 mins to heat up. You will need oven gloves to remove as they become very hot. If you put the plates in after the warmer has heated up, they must be warmed first or may crack. The drop down door catch is a little temperamental, the only design fault I have found.Take care where you place this server - use heat resistant placemats if used on quality furniture as heat is generated down below it - but fine if used on the kitchen work top. I bought this to replace a very old flat metal heat tray. It is far superior product and I am so please I made the purchase.

We bought this to replace a full sized Hostess trolley which we had used for over thirty years. As we now do less entertaining it seemed an appropriate move. It certainly does the job for two of us. One small grumble is that we had to buy slightly smaller dinner plates. Our existing plates were slightly too big in diameter which meant that we could not close the door properly. Otherwise it is fine.

This is very much the traditional product that everyone has seen at some party or family gathering.It is not, to my mind, aesthetically pleasing. However, it does a good job of keeping food nicely warm and is essential for xmas dinner and other family gatherings.Since it has removable glass (pyrex) parts it has to be stored upright or disassembled, and this really means finding a large area (loft, understairs cupboard) for it...as a result it will probably not come out for everyday use.The inside is not that accessible for cleaning since the element is in the way but if careful that area doesn't need cleaning at all; the dishes can be put straight into the dishwasher though.Still...an effective product and useful to have on hand, albeit one that feels quite dated by modern standards.

This was a replacement for an old hostess unit that we'd had for years. This keeps the food at a better temprature and is very sturdy. My biggest annoyance with it was the amount of packaging. I know it needs to be protected, but the amount of packaging seems way over the top in this day and age. The box was so big I could sit in it

A well made product that is very useful. The unit heats up quickly and keeps food warm without spoiling. It helps if you pre-warm the dishes with boiling water prior to each use. This reduces the waiting time for the unit to heat up. Dishes are easy to clean by normal washing. Beware the heating unit/warming drawer does not accomodate larger plates. Perhaps coud do with a heat controller rather than just an on/off switch.

I bought this because my friend has one and swears that she couldn't do with out it! I followed the instructions to the letter and agree that the plates must go in before it is switched on, and yes, they do get very hot. I would have given it 5 stars if there had been a temperature control, not just the on/off switch. Apart from that I am very satisfied with it and would recommend it to anyone else.

Bought this for Christmas dinner to keep the food warm before serving - did the job perfectly. Food stayed nice and hot without ruining. Cord is long enough to get to the plug (unlike my hot tray!) and serving dishes are of a good quality Pyrex and a sufficiently sized. Only complaint is that the lower space is quite ltd - store 8 plates or 2 other dishes - depth and length is fine but height is quite tight.
