Waste of money
Not only was this book a waste of money but I worked for a company that was flourishing and then this came along and they laid off 200 people before finally laying off the guy who wrote it

Escaping the Price Driven Sale
Maybe as I am not up with the latest selling techniques, this book went right over my head. I certainly found it very hard to read, but maybe that is because I am one of the older sales brigade (I am in my mid-60's). I will admit that selling (especially in a mature market, such as photocopying systems which I sell) has changed immeasurably since the internet gave prospective clients so much information and product knowledge. However I still think that there must be some authors out there, that can explain this book's topics, in a much easier to read manner, than what I have just tried to read. (But of course I may very well be wrong)

Such a good book
I can't quite believe I am the first reviewer of such an excellent book.Having come across SPIN in the late 1980s I have been a convert ever since. But reading this book - updated from the original book on SPIN selling, I found it brilliant in establishing some great concepts: that selling is a professional activity not some Arthur Daleyesque con; that selling is about giving value to other people as much as to oneself; that common misconceptions about what works best in selling abound; and how to use psychological insights in a positive way. Some really good stories and some good practical tips too.Of course it is hard to learn any practical skill from a book, so I'd really recommend reading this and then getting some sales coaching too.
