A complete deal for entry level hi-res.
First off, it sounds GREAT, I mainly use IEMs, and occasionally run it through car out. Battery lasts forever- mine 50 plus hours. File transfer is effortless for PC and Mac. Works with cue and m3u tags. It autoupdates before disconnect. Gapless playback. Cons: UI is friendly but not efficient or intuitive, but given sound quality it's a minor complaint. Yes there are many players with screens that have more intuitive UI- Aigo A50-- but this baby for the price is unbeatable.

Superb Player
Ok first off, there are mixed reviews but do a little research. The parts in this unit are actually universal, and then the market is flooded with these from myriad sellers. By 'the parts' I mean the DAC, and the internals that drive the sound quality of the unit.Pros:* The battery life is unreal. We are talking 35-40 hours unreal. It sips power. In a world where phones are down to half a day, this is great.* Dual line out and headphone out is a boon for setup with any audio system.* The amplifier on this is POWERFUL. I am talking it has a range of 0-100. 50 is enough for a moving airplane on the wing seat. I bought it to help drown out people in loud places and its king there. As i write this in a quiet room, the unit is at 10/100. More than that, the definition of audiophile sound is not how good it sounds pushing reference watts, but at low levels. This thing is great at 10% of max. I have never had it above 55 and that says a lot.* The bass is deep and accurate, the stereo imaging is great, and even with the most challenging music i have this delivers great sound.* It can take every major music format i can think of. It reminds me of rockbox, without the firmware changes.* It even came with its own protective case, AND headphones that are good out the box, though i use a different brand.Cons:* instructions not in english - not a big deal but worth mention* Menu is not intuitive. Example. Menu is also 'do this' not the play button. 'back' takes you up a level, not menu. This is the opposite of a lot of systems.* The wheel is pretty meh.* The folder system is challenged. It keeps track by newest added, not by name, or any other arrangement. Meaning you can have have music all over the place. You can use subfolders to organize, and should, but that should not need to be made necessary.*

great promise but serious reliability issues
I thought I had found the ideal player. Great battery life, tolerable sound, simple but robust controls plus I routinely used 200gb SANDISK memory cards to store my files. I liked this item so much I bought 3 of them foreseeing a long period of well satisfied use. Imagine my disappointment when just short of a year, my alpha player quit working even when plugged in to the mains. Oh well, things fail but I still have two left. My new main player worked like a champ and all was well. Then 3 weeks later, the second player quit just like the first. This time I opened up both players and noticed that both batteries were similar in age. Some manufacturing defect at the battery plant perhaps? I am now down to my last remaining player and am waiting for this one to fail.I attempted to contact the manufacturer/ assembler but never heard back.

sounds good, powerful headphone amp built in
sounds good, powerful headphone amp built in. good line out feature. good weight with metal casing. It has no spectrum analyzer like the picture shows, What is bad is the file system in this thing. There really isn't an alphabetical order, It's more like the order you put your folders on the micro sd card, and it does not find all the artists. The OS is quite clunky and annoying to go through especially if you put a lot of music on this. The wheel click is a lot like game cards in the spokes of your bike. it clicks as it spins, but not very convincing.

Great Alternative To Apple Products
I wanted a dedicated music player but I didn't want an iPod since I'm just done with apple products all together. Browsed around Amazon for a bit and bought another HiFi player before this one (Dansrue) that had a ton of 5 star reviews but turned out to be a dud. It couldn't drive full sized headphones or even play m4a files. As it would turn out, a lot of the reviews are fake or sponsored by the seller. So I did a little research and found a HiFi player with more reliable feedback online. So far the X10 is fantastic. The build quality makes it feel more expensive than it is; all aluminum with smooth corners. The buttons are metal as well and very responsive. It has an wheel to navigate the menu like the first iPods but it isn't a finger print magnet. Text is clear and spaced apart unlike the previously mentioned Dansrue player (see my review) and the menu is well organized. The music sounds phenomenal on my full sized headphones (Marley) and it even sounds great on medium sized headphones. The player I received seems to be the revised one that includes new earphones which are metal, not plastic like the old ones seen in some reviews pre 2018. The build quality of the earphones is solid but I haven't gotten around to testing the audio quality. Overall I'm satisfied with this HiFi player and it has met my expectations have been met.

Not worth the money.
I got a non branded one of sorts. Other than the name, it's the same thing. The product stated it could be expandable up to 128gb storage with micro sd. Which I had loaded all my music on it. Which is 11,679 song and would only read 4,000. It doesn't really do anything good other than sound good. Albums, artists, tracks are not organized at all and I've taken time to do all that plus add artwork. It shows some art not all even though 99% of my collection has art added. I'm just glad I didn't pay much for it. Plus the user interface is complete garbage. I wasn't expecting ipod but this isn't good at all.
