Great little charger for the flight fiield or workbench
I Bought this to replace a Keenstone unit which suddenly failed after less than a years use, mainly because it was cheap and I didn't want to drop lots of cash at the time, I'm pretty much a 'get what you pay for' guy and thought this would do for the time being until I could replace with something better but now it's arrived and I've used it a few times I have to say I'm very impressed with this little charger. It's certainly not the most powerful charger out there but it's perfectly adequate for I'd say most sport flyers and I've used it with my parallel charge board for 3 2200mah's and it copes with this I also use it for My 4S quad batteries, most stuff is only charged at 1C but I'm never in a rush to charge batteries anyway. The display is clear and nice and bright, you get audible tones when things are done charging and colour coding on the display to let you know what function your are using - charge, discharge and storage. The size of the unit makes it great for either a flightbox or just throwing in the car for a trip to the field and as it's DC it can run from a car battery, I use a set of motorcycle jumper cables with one set of clips cut off and an XT60 soldered on -works great, I also this this at home with an old Dell laptop charger with the laptop jack cut off and an XT60 - no issues at all.I'd highly recommend this charger.

I look forward to making use of Charger...
I've not charged using it as of yet, but assuming it works as It should:I'll start by confirming that the charger I received came set to English language.Secondly, I read one off putting review that complained about text printed on the screen that obscured view when device was turned on... It is a protective packaging film/sticker. At least it was on the one I received, as shown in the photo I've provided with booklet between film/sticker and screen. (I'm leaving it on until I start using it, then I may replace it with clear screen protector film)I've powered it up from a 3S battery with XT60 connector; I'm very happy with the OSD and the options available.I will be using it with a parallel charging distribution board with 6 XT60 connections, so:Given that the spec says it's capable of providing 8 Amps; that should be 1333mA per XT60 on maximum output when using all XT60's, which will be the perfect balance between fastest charge time and treating my 1500mAh batteries with care, in my eyes.It does not come with a power supply, granted, but I plan on either buying one to power it or repurpose an old power supply I have knocking about and for when I'm out, I will create an XT60 hook up to power it from leasure battery in Camper Van as not to drain starter battery.Enough about my planned setup, I'm happy.

Great bit of kit but delivered from UK seller, stuck in Chinese!
This is a feature packed charger for a good price and it was delivered quickly from a UK seller. That's the good stuff.... The downside was that it came with Chinese as the default language and the English option disabled (you could work out the menus from the icons by each option)! Now this would be an annoyance only if it weren't for the warnings that occasionally come up when you select certain functions or there is an error. I asked the seller about this and they attempted to help but in the end I had to update the firmware to the latest version (done by sharing it from a friends charger of the same type - a neat function) which provided some additional features but didn't unlock the English language. To do that we had to roll back the firmware to a specific version which enables English (there is a website which tells you how to connect a USB interface and lead to do this and also has the firmware to download). So now I have mine speaking English! This was a lot of effort to get to what I expected to receive by default from an English seller. Beware of this before you buy. Also, it comes with no leads, you need to do some planning and purchasing before you can use it in anger. This isn't that bad though because everybody has different battery types and connector needs so it avoids wasted money on leads one doesn't need. All on all worth a 4.5 if it weren't for the language problems.

Fantastic Charger
Fantastic charger, user interface is great with the large clear screen and charges quickly and fully and can support some good charge rates - which would be great to parallel charge multiple packs too. Discharge is limited to 5W, so on a 3S pack that is about 0.4A (even though settings go much higher).Arrived with firmware version 2.0.3.90 and although not really necessary, I upgraded to 2.1.0.7 - you can either purchase the iSDT USB adapter and cable for upgrading, or as I did just search for "SC-608 firmware" in Google to find the intofpv explanation on how to build your own cable. You can download the latest firmware from the iSDT website.Appears the issue about units being delivered in Chinese has now been fixed, mine arrived set to English and next day with Prime on the 2nd March.

potentially dangerous voltage
The charger works very well, and the fact that it can be powered by an XT-60 makes it great in the field. However, the voltage meter seemed to be off. When checking the voltage on each cell they seemed to be as much as .1 volt off. Thankfully I was charging LI-HV batteries to 4.2v each cell so the fact that it put some of the cells up to 4.3 wasn't an issue. But I would STRONGLY recommend checking the voltages of your cells and go online to see how to change the voltage offsets in the firmware.

Looks like mine under charges.
Not bad. Although I dont think it fully charges battery. I think theres an issue with the voltage reading and calibrating doesnt seem to correct the issue either.Basically once a 5s li ion battery is (aparently) fully charged, several of my multimeters only read 20.3v when should be 20.5.

Great Portable Charger
Seems a great device for bringing to the field. Also takes up very little room on the bench.Fine tuning the reported voltages is also easy, although you do have to ask for the unlock code to do this.
