Large Antique Filigree Silver Flower Crystal Barrette Bridal Hair Clip Diamante, White, 9cm

The sprung back seemed poorly cast, and needed replacing after a week of use, when it snapped and fell out.The casting of the visible portion is great, and I was surprised that spring clip was cast, as I'm sure they're usually pressed from a solid sheet, but there were clearly moulding errors in it's construction. (as happens when metal is injected at too cool a temperature or with too many impurities)Anyway, I managed to cheaply source a bag of replacement clips, "borrowed" the spring steel from one of those, and found it fit perfectly, and the whole piece is functional again. Had that not worked, I suspect I could have taken the entire mechanism off and replaced it, with a little more effort. (I don't have the ability to weld metal, but could probably have found a strong enough cement glue ... probably a 2 part polymer bond would have done)The visible artistic piece is beautiful, if a little weighty for my "fine" hair, and of solid construction. It's really a shame that the initial (unaltered) mechanism wasn't of similar quality. Particularly as I could correct that myself so cheaply.

Quite sparkly under the light , good size

The design is beautiful but it is not strong, it broke the 2nd day while I was wearing it. It is quite small too, about 6cm and definitely not for thick hair. I wouldn't recommend it.

Pretty clip and does the job as long as I don’t put too much hair in the clip

The fixing of the clip is poor and you cannot fix it back if it becomes detached (even though I can silver solder) as it I'd a cheap nasty alloy which must be very cheap to make.

Really pretty and dainty. Love it.
