Does what it was intended for, which is to help my son to see how long he has to have his "thinking time" for. He has knocked it to the ground in a temper before, and it stayed intact which was a relief.I have also used this to show the children how long they have until it is time to pack away, or when it is time to go upstairs to bed if they are busy playing.It also works well to help with sharing toys....we say two turns of the timer and then swap. Seems to work fairly well if we remember to turn it!

This is great. I'm a trainee teacher and one of the problems with my early lessons was pace - I had a problem with letting the students take too much time over activities and then I would run out of time. I bought three different timers and I used them to keep up the pace of the lesson. I would tell the students how much time they had for an activity and then made sure I moved the lesson on when the timer ran out. It's handy to have a few different timers for different activities.They can also be used with younger children and children with SEN to help them with taking turns and preparing them for a change in activity.The timer ran correctly to time (2 seconds over) so pretty accurate :-)There are online timers you can get that can be displayed on a whiteboard and I'm going to try these for the longer time periods.

Excellent sand timer for children. Quite large - so easy to hold for younger children. Looks quite solid but we did not try to drop it. It looks that it would survive a drop. My son is keen to use it- whcih is great! It helped to simplify breakfast in the morning and stopped arguments about how long is left for him to play in the evening before going to bed. He also finds it fascinating just to sit and watch. Would recommend! The seller is good too- arrived the next day, well packaged.

I love the 2, 5 and 10 minute timer. I bought it especially for children that i’m looking after for having fun and managing time eg brushing teeth, breakfast, homework and even getting ready to leave for school. Excellent quality, just wish they were slightly cheaper then I would have bought 20 and 30 minute ones as well.

Great for my son to learn to wait he has autism and keeping him to do something he doesn't wants visual timers help to keep him focused. Have brought other time lengths for all different things like timing tooth brushing these are bright and built to last
