Quite nice dates. Sweet, somewhat moist. However, I've had better... A lot better. Those who are praising them are either being very patriotic, or have simply not had proper dates. These are fairly dry compared to others, and I won't be buying then again, unless I can't find any better in uk

Lovely plump dates that keep well and can be frozen, says the packaging. Dates used to be something we only saw at Christmas but we now keep a box at hand all year round. They make the perfect sticky toffee pudding, can be chopped and added to breakfast cereal or just eaten as they come for a sweet treat. They are also my go-to gift for vegan friends and family!

I have purchased these Medjool dates seven times over the years, given them to friends and recommended them to all They were moist, succulent, and tasted wonderful, the best dates I had ever eaten. So when I made my Christmas order for dates this year I was already looking forward to this delicious treat.However, when they arrived today I was in for a shock. Many were already discoloured and clearly deteriorating. One was as hard as leather and rapidly drying out. They were chewy and dry, their former deliciousness only a dim and distant memory. There was even a whiff of staleness about the box.Their expiry date was not until September 9, 2024, so obviously something had gone wrong in their storage. There are clear instructions on the side of the box advising freezer and fridge storage for a longer life. I can only suppose that they had not been stored in a cool place.So what to do? Never one to waste food, I googled what to do with shrivelling dates and was advised, amongst other things, to soak them in boiling water for a few minutes. This I did, and whilst the dates remained discoloured and unappetising looking, the water treatment did restore some of the former taste and softness that I remembered.So disappointing for such a once-great product. I shall think twice about ordering these dates again unless somebody can give a rock-solid guarantee of their freshness.

These dates (I've had one box so far, on here now to order a second) are just what Medjool dates should be: moist, plump, deliciously 'caramel'.I've ordered lots of different boxes from different suppliers (not just here on Amazon) and, so often, the dates are a disappointment: dry, hard, tasteless.These are excellent Medjool dates and I'm just hoping the standard stays this high.
