Actually quite a good idea... why? Well... If you use a drone which has a return to home function, but you go walking off with the drone above - I keep forgetting where the return to home location is! So this is a handy little marker. It also keeps blades of grass clear from the rotors, and if your drone has image enhanced landing, provides it with a good point of reference. Just make sure someone's dog doesn't pick it up and run away with it! @Kickboxerlad

Have purchased this for my Mavic Pro (if it ever turns up) as camera clearance is not great. Quite heavy rubber material however my Phantom 4 blew it away when I tried to land on it. Will write a further review when I get the Mavic, this isn't really needed with a Phantom, especially if like myself you have additional landing gear attached.

Fast post very well made .I have used this with my new DJI phantom 4 and it fits on the pad fine .I can recommend this landing pad as it keeps your drone off the mud and it's better than just sitting on the grass .

I purchased this landing pad for my Phantom 3 Standard. This product had received some good reviews, and the supplier stated "gone are the days when a bit of sand or overgrown grass would stop you flying your quad copter!" I totally disagree, because I placed this mat on some overgrown grass and the bulge it created, was hitting my camera and filter (see pics). The material is similar to a mouse mat, but its way to soft. The gimbal on the Phantom line, does an automated self test on start up, so hitting this "bulge" is not ideal. Also this landing mat is way to small for the money you pay, I was expecting it to be at least double the size, So I could have something to aim at, from the air. I'm sorry but this product is just not fit for purpose, so it will be returned to Amazon.

Small for a DJI Phanton 3,, being just a little bigger, but it's flexibility means it's easy to fold and so will slide neatly into your carry bag/case, I's well made, clearly printed and will certainly improve your camera assisted landing skills
