Manufacturer's Description Rediscover your city Every city is a playground. And Stair-Rover is designed to help you discover the full potential of yours. On flat ground, Stair-Rover is the equal of any traditional longboard. But when the surface gets rough – cobblestones or uneven paving, for example – the chassis goes to work. It reduces impact and keeps you moving. It’s that same mechanism that gives the Stair-Rover its name. Reach the top of a flight of stairs and simply keep going – let gravity and the patent-pending V-frame design do the rest. The wheels bounce up and down independently and conform to the shape of each step. It’s a balancing act that gives the board its crab-like scuttle and gives you a butter-smooth ride to the bottom. New tricks, new adventures Stair-Rover doesn’t just give you access to new areas of the city. It gives you access to a new world of tricks and maneuvers – and the vast majority are yet to be created. That’s why we’re so excited to see what our community of riders will discover. The possibilities are virtually endless. • A ply maple deck with handle for easy carrying • Weighs 4 kg / 9 lbs • Length: 80cm | Width: 25cm | Height: 12cm • Heavy duty and flexible V-frames • Engineering thermoplastic chassis with shock absorbers for enjoyable ride • Custom 50 degree aluminum trucks for more turning • 8 wheels, 60mm 80a super high rebounce What people say “Where no man has gone before” – The Berrics “Ingenious” – Surfdome “As something for surfers to do when there weren’t any waves, the Stair-Rover makes perfect sense.” – Wired “It is really designed for the man who never wants to grow up.” – Adrian Simpson, the Sky News anchor “An ingenious eight-wheeled longboard that can navigate erratic terrain with fluid ease.” – The Observer About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Surf, City, Unbounded How did you come up with the idea for this product? Those cracked pavements, old steps, and slopes of London inspired me. In the same way that surfers see the wave as an expression of hidden energy, I saw the urban landscape as a source of energy to be harnessed by longboarders. Longboarders and skateboarders have already found countless ways to do this, but I dreamed of another way to enjoy its flow. And that’s how Stair-Rover came to be. What makes your product special? There are many kinds of skateboards and longboards in the market. But, the Stair-Rover is the best all-urban-terrain commuter board you can find. It is specifically designed to accommodate the city environment. It gives you the fun of agility and the stability at the same time. What has been the best part of your startup experience? We ran a lot of riding events during this startup journey. The most amazing part is to see many inexperienced people decided to get the Stair-Rover as their first step joining to longboarding. Also, through these test riding events, some longboarders who originally feel skeptical about our concept or thought longboarding needs no innovation, found themselves enjoy the unique riding experience with Stair-Rover, and became our supporters.

Nice idea, doesn't quite hit the spot...
Nice idea, thought I'd give it a try. Well made and very stable to ride, but what it gains in stability it loses in turning ability - I found it had the turning circle somewhat akin to a bus (ie: not great!) Mine had a design issue in that it constantly veered to one side even on the flat with no weight on it, so I returned it and bought an All Terrain Longboard instead. Only recommended for those who don't do much turning and plan to go up and down a LOT of stairs!

Not what I expected. Think before you buy!
It is indeed a "Stair-Rover"! Definitely far easier to skate down a few steps without needing to go to A&E.It also looks very slick: it's really well made and it shows. The handle is very handy, as long as you aren't carrying much else...I found it surprisingly heavy; I wouldn't recommend it to female skaters who, like me, never bothered with that whole upper body strength thing. I've pretty much given up using it nowadays sadly.I would suggest any skaters do their research and weigh up the pro's and cons for themselves because at £199.99 I don't think it really makes urban skating any easier.Lovely idea though!

I like the design concept
I like the design concept, but the follow through was lacking. My "Heavy duty" v frames cracked and broke within very short time period. Plus there is the fact that they are made out of plastic !!!! It Almost egregiously obvious that you should not use plastic as a component for any skate board / long board tuck. Especially one supposedly designed to go down stairs.
