Stunning Illustrations make up for mediocre written sections.
I want to start off by saying this is a well-made and beautifully illustrated tome. The Illustrations alone are enough of a reason to buy this book, every entry in this Bestiary has a beautiful black and white illustration accompanying it: resulting in some of the best artwork of the characters and creatures of Supernatural you will ever see.The binding, printing and paper quality of the book are all excellent, and the front cover with it's raised gold lettering, and embossed images is very attractive. However it falls a little short from perfection due to some notable fact-checking errors (for example in the Lucifer section it erroneously states Michael was also sealed in Lucifer's cage for thousands of years before Season 5, which is incorrect) and some notable omissions on the written entries (no entries on Alastair, Ruby, The Seven Deadly Sins, Samhain, Crossroads demons or Jesse Turner/The Anti-christ in the Demons section, no entries on Michael, Raphael, Zacariah, Naomi, Cupids, and many other notable angels in the angel section). Also the written sections while done in the style and tone of Sam and Dean, lack any in-depth information, analysis or great character perspective (with a few notable exceptions: Sam's entry on God and Dean's entries on Cain and Castiel are very good - these pages actually provide some meaningful perspective on these characters from 'Sam and Deans' point of view). Likewise some characters with entries that you think would garner more commentary don't, (such as: Azazel, Death and the other horsemen, Gabriel, Lilith). To be honest, I almost wish the writer wasn't so slavish to canon, these entries read less as an in-universe bestiary and more of a recap of the show. The writer takes no risks, doesn't add interesting facets to the lore, or really has any FUN with the notion of writing a book about monsters. Previous books of this kind such as 'Bobby Singer's Guide to Hunting' and 'The Journal of John Winchester' make bolder claims in the lore of the show and stray farther from canon the longer the show is running, however they are all the more enjoyable as reads because if this. This Bestiary of Waggoner's will also in time stray from canon as the canon is changed (this book even shows some of this straying continuity in the Reaper's page, which states they are angels: something only asserted in the latest episodes despite earlier seasons contradicting this). Canon is fluid, so the writer should have prioritised an interesting and fun reading experience above simply sticking to what is canon. For these reasons the book would have been served far better by having a better author. However enough of the negative - on with the positive! this is simply a stunningly illustrated book and I DO recommend it if you are a fan of Supernatural who wants to own a well-made and simplified summary on the shows most notable monsters and entities with some absolutely beautiful artwork. However if you want a deeper explanation and description of the shows monsters and creatures and don't care for the artwork, just use the Supernatural Wiki. And if you want a more in-depth, in-universe book written from the perspectives of characters from Supernatural with greater characterisation, buy 'Bobby Singer's Guide to Hunting' or 'The Journal of John Winchester'. But if you are a huge fan of Supernatural, you should have them anyway!

Incredible book! If you love Supernatural (the TV series) you have to get this book; it is so full of wonderful things about monsters! If you are just interested in folklore or mythical monsters you have to get this book. It is well researched and great to dip in and out of.

Best SUPERNATURAL book ever
The media could not be loaded. If you are a fan of Supernatural the way I am then this is one to add to your collection. It's a brilliant book mainly written by Sam and then notes added by Dean (quite funny ones may i add) Love this book. 💖🖤🍰🍔🥓
