The Big CheeseLong Eared Owl Realistic Decoy Deterrent, Scares Birds from Gardens and Buildings

It's a hollow, front half of an owl but at this price that's quality enough. Besides which, it does the job. I should say it hasn't deterred any pigeons, starlings or other garden birds, but I bought this for a different reason. For a while, I've had a sparrowhawk regularly attacking the birds on my feeders. The hawk would glare at me and eat birds on my lawn, which started to become quite upsetting. I don't want to stop the hawk eating, just not in my back yard, so to speak. A bit of research showed that hawks are deterred by owls so I thought I'd try this. From the day I put Ozzy (Ozymandias, for anyone else who's a fan of Ace of Wands) on the trellis there's been no sign of the hawk, no feathers or other signs of carnage. It seems to keep the hawk out of the garden, so I can sit outside again without dreading further assualts on the sparrows et al. Budget price, attractive and does what I wanted.

This product is so light and flimsy it is not worth the money. It is backless so doesn't stand. You have to hang it up which we did with string and in wind it just bangs against the fence which is driving us mad because of the noise. The crows are still coming and attacking the lawn so this product has not worked.

Well made, realistic. Definitely keeps pigeons off the garden. Did initially keep magpies away but they are clever things and soon worked out that the owls posed no threat!Update for 2023 season. I suspended each owl on some string so that they moved in the breeze, I’m guessing that this made them more realistic to magpies and other birds as I have had a season free of pests!

Worked for 2 days then pigeons came back even after moving it to a different place. Does not work.

Bought this after reading a number of positive reviews and must say I was well impressed with how effective it has been. Part of my roof is made made from metal sheeting and at 6:30am every morning a few big Rooks would scramble across the roof, making an absolute racket.Bought 2 of these Owls and placed on chimney pots at opposite ends of my roof and from Day 1 the Rooks, and Jackdaws who normally nest in one of the unused chimney pots, have not been back.The Owls are well made, although one did have a cracked nose which was easily mended with some super glue.Overall, very effective for the 2 bird types normally on my roof and would definitely recommend.

I write this review based on my decades of experiences as a consumer and reviewerProperty owner, outdoor hobbies, born and raised in the countryside, living on the NE coast if England and plagued by an out of control seagull population.I bought this, primarily because I am interested in making models of wildlife and this would be good to have to hand to copy in clay.HOWEVER, this is the trashiest of trash when seen away from the sellers photograph.It is not even a bird figure.What you get is a very thin plastic pressed into the shape of what you see in the sellers photo.Take a circle, call it a bird, cut it in two then leave the half circle { with no guts,!no features and that is this bird scarier.From the rear all you see is a full width x height plastic.The artwork is absolutely awful.Way bigger than life-size so it is even more unconvincing.It will very likely break with the slightest impact.No anchors, fixing points or accessories to fix it in place.No instructions as to how to fix it in place.The worst purchase, I have made in a long time and since lockdown started 03/20. I Have made a lot of bad purchases.Overall. Absolutely awful rubbish that has no moral right to have the claims made about it given any credibility

Leider ist es den Spatzen, die in unseren Rolladen-Kästen nisten egal, ob da das Eulending steht oder nicht. Großstadt-Spatzen sind da anderes gewöhnt, offensichtlich. Nette Eule, überraschend nur aus einer vorderen Hälfte bestehend, also eine Halbschale, keine ganze Eule und leider leider funktionslos.

Cependant, l'un n'avait pas de bec, j'ai regardé dans le carton mais n'y est rien trouvé (avant envoi, l'agent qui a préparé la commande l'a certainement constaté mais l'objet m'a quand même été envoyé) . Je m'attendais à un objet entier, hors, il ne représente que la moitié de hibou, il n'y a donc pas de verso... Point positif, il est réaliste et dissuasif. Cordialement
