Great book for every traveller

Mauritius was the last part of our honeymoon and this book was such a tease! It has great pictures and you just long to be there NOW instead of waiting for your plane to set off. We actually stayed in the North corner of the island (the hotel was rated most romantic hotel on the island) and we absolutely loved every day of it (even the rainy ones).The book was a great little helper, it has a good map you can use when you explore the island by car or with bikes (which is a good alternative).It does not contain a mass of information, more the most important bits and pieces you need to know when going to Mauritius. Also the restaurant tips are not a 100%, we were going better with just asking the people working in the hotel.Mauritius is absolutely lovely, this book is a great teaser and will help you with some basic tips and a very good map. However don't think the restaurant and bar tips are the best..

I usually buy Dorling Kindersley books (10 Best) but this wasn't available on Mauritius. However, this book is an absolutely brilliant replacement, and I would buy Marco Polo's guides again.It's extremely informative, clear and easy to follow. You can easily read it like a novel, or pick and choose subjects to research.Highly enjoyable! And highly recommended!

We found this book perfect for our needs - a week's holiday in Mauritius, our first trip there. The guide is a handy size to be carried alongside a camera, handbag, hat/umbrella et al. It had all the information we required, as well as a particularly good, detailed map of the whole island.

Guides to Mauritius are quite rare so hoped this book would be useful but I was left a bit disappointed.The book really skims the surface of what there is to do and doesn’t cover anything in any detail so if you read the book and think ok we might do that then it’s straight on the internet to find out more which kind of defeats the object of the guide book.The guide book is small enough to carry round although with the lack of detail I’m not sure that’s worth it. The pull out map is good for carrying around in your pocket but have a few small inaccuracies.The restaurant and bar tips are probably best left for emergencies with recommendations from hotel staff or locals being better.

Decent guide. Guides for this island are pretty rare which is a shame as the island is gorgeous. The map was OK, but all too often we found roads to be marked incorrectly, or even in the wrong place!!! Descriptions of the towns and attractions were good

Exactly the book my husband wanted for our holiday. The right size and weight for packing in hand luggage. Would not hesitate to order a Marco Polo book again for future holidays.

Well written and contains good folded roadmap in separate plastic folder inside back cover, plus same map in indexed pages.
