A Great Compact Cleaner!
I purchased this cleaner as I needed a “deeper clean” on my carpets. Other considerations were… only half of my home has carpet, so I needed something compact, handheld and portable, a product capable of easily attacking stains on carpet and rugs, a quick and easy spot cleaner and finally something that could be easily stored. I previously owned a larger upright cleaner which was too bulky and cumbersome for me.I had survived with my steam mop for four years kidding myself that it would be adequate but the mop only cleans and refreshes the surface it does not “deep clean” it.I have not been let down with this cleaner. It arrived with sample cleaning fluid, a bonus for those wanting to get testing on arrival prior to committing to a ton of cleaning fluid you might not like the smell of! The small instruction booklet is perfectly written in plain English and the cleaner has markings clearly defined, so fool proof for people like me that don’t waste too much time reading endless instruction booklets. In addition, all the attachments and hose are clipped to the main body making it neat and easy to transport. When cleaning with the Bissell you have two options, small areas and large areas – that really translates into less water and fluid for smaller areas. The machine recommends using a mix of water, Oxygen Boost liquid and Bissell formula. Compartments are easy to fill and you use warm water direct from the tap.To give a guidance on how much you can clean, a 'large area' cleaned four steps of my stairs, whilst the 'small' covered the door mat. Liquid worked well and the dirt removed certainly gave a sense of achievement. There’s a simple on/off button and you simply press a red button on the handle that sprays the liquid and then sucks it back into the machine. Carpet is left damp but dries quickly.Only slight inconvenience is the noise, don’t try having a conversation when running as this little machine has a hefty rumble when it’s on.

It was easy to set up and quite simple to use
I thought that this might turn out to be more of a toy than a machine, but I needn't have worried.I had been trying to clean some dark-coloured dog vomit from a deep-pile cream coloured carpet (don't ask!) with a spray can of carpet cleaner and sponging/swabbing/brushing but the stain was still very visible. We had only recently had a carpet cleaning company in and didn't want to do all that again, so decided to buy the SpotClean machine and give it a go. It was easy to set up and quite simple to use. It appears to work on the same principle as the machines that professional cleaners use: spraying clean water and chemicals from one tank and sucking the mixture through the carpet and out into a separate tank. I don't think I would want to do a whole room with it, but then it's small and portable and clearly described as a "Spot Cleaner".The results were fantastic. No sign of the stain, and the carpet felt almost dry when I finished, though I did quite a lot of "drying strokes" where you use the cleaning head with suction but without spraying any further cleaning liquid, which removes the saturation from the carpet. A nice design: the hose and cable clip neatly around the machine for storage. The liquids that you have to add to the water are not particularly cheap, but the free samples that came in the box were more than enough for the job I had. With the cost of getting a professional in to do just spot-cleaning, this machine will have paid for itself after just a few uses, and I'm delighted with it.

Excellent.
We run a boat which is used for Scuba Diving trips, and onboard people tend to drink wine. Alas, they also manage to spill it. I bought this to deal with these sorts of incidents. We also have a dog who is mainly good, but has his moments when he decides he no longer wants to be black and white, and would prefer to be brown. We have a large upright bissell which is heavy, noisy and rather industrial. I tend to use it every few months room by room to de-dog and evict the dust mite colonies. I wanted something smaller that I wouldn't mind rocking out for accidents.I used the SpotClean on a small section of carpet in a high traffic area where the dog had left a muddy mark. Normally I would wait for it to dry and hoover it away. However, I followed the very simple instructions and set about cleaning it up.Firstly, it's not too noisy. Loud, but not AAARRRGGHHHHH loud.Pressing the button on the nozzle allows warm water from the tank to squirt out and you can use the scrubby bit on the nozzle to suck the dirty water away. I would say for anything stubborn I would invest in a stiff scrubbing brush to use separately from the one on the hose. This would allow you to really work the soap into the carpet. Stubborn stains would benefit from a soak with solution for 5-10 minutes first I think.Sucking the water back up is easy, and the clear tube/nozzle allows you so see how much you are getting back out. After going over the same area a couple of times until no-more water was coming back out the carpet was dry enough to walk on which I was pleased with.Be prepared to be utterly horrified with the colour of the water you suck back up. And NEVER ever ever leave the dirty water to fester in the tank. It will smell like a beast made of armpits has died a slow lingering death in there. A quick dash of dettol will help neutralise the whiff. The hose wraps around the machine neatly, and this will stow easily in a large cupboard.I like it, yet to let it loose on red wine, but I have high hopes.
