Simple yet powerful
Good introduction to chords and chord voicing. If you've been through a piano course, it will be old news. Great boo, if you're looking for a cheat sheet or refresher.

It is definitely the easiest chord book I have ever seen.
With that said said, it doesn’t give you the volume int chord that sounds so much better. It is, however, a good starting placing to remember the basic chord and then you learn the whole when you get more comfortable using them.

Title Says It All
Learning piano on my own according to Monk has been “a blessing and a curse”. Some days I have a feeling of accomplishment and others I just want to tear my hair out.The latter is the way I felt about chords till I got this book.I’ll admit, I had to read through it a few times before I got it, but then I had an epiphany and it all made sense. This is not a lengthy book but the information within is written so well that if you are having any difficulty making headway with chords this book has all you’ll need to figure it out especially if you’re learning on your own.I recommend this book highly.

Can you imagine yourself teaching your student that “there” and “they’re” are the same?
I understand the need to make concepts easier to learn, but, teaching C# major chord notes as C# - F - G# instead of C# - E# - G#, which is the right way is just too much! I don’t care if E# and F have the same sound…E# is the right one because it’s the 3rd note/degree of the C# scale: C#-D#-E#-F#-G#-A#-B#Teaching F, instead, you suggest that sharps and flats are only black keys, which is not! Look to the order of the sharps: F#, C#, G#, D#, A#, E#, B#!Can you imagine teaching your student that “They’re” and “There” are the same word? OMFG you cannot misinform your student this way!!!

Lots of fun
Ordered this and 2 other books because starting to play piano again. I had lessons as a child but needed a refresher. This book has helped prior lessons coming back to me. No, I don't have plans to be a concert pianist, I just want to be able to play from sheet music. Already play part by ear. The lessons are set up for beginner and it's a lot of fun to practice everyday. About 1/2 way through this book and loving some of the songs. Quite easy and lots of fun. Highly recommend!

best basicmusic theory book i have ever read
This book is the best basic music theory book i have ever seen; it explains things in such an easy way that it makes the learning of it very easy. And it gives one a very simple way to construct any chord you might run into. I play guitar and the chords on the piano translate to the fretboard so easily i cannot believe it.Great job to the author. p r davis
