I’ve used these outlet cover lights for years. They are remarkably reliable, provide enough light to see my gray American tiger cat on our dark rug at night.They also provide enough night light without being annoyingly bright. They work really well once you get them installed.Even on newer construction, these outlet lights can be challenging to install despite manufacturers claims otherwise because you never know what issues are going to arise.I decided to add 2 new lighted covers and I wanted black covers. I swapped out the white outlets with new black Lutron Claro outlets - allegedly the best outlets on the market. See the photos.The problem was that the new Lutron Claro outlets now have “wings” on the sides that I believe protect the screw connectors behind them. But the “wings”push the lighted outlet cover connectors too far out to connect to the outlet and they won’t light up. See the photos.I had to “notch” the new Lutron outlet “wings” using a small saw to make initial cuts and then a razor knife to score the part I wanted to remove. I used a pair of pliers to wiggle a section of the “wings” loose. Once again, see the photos.After that, everything worked properly. I pre-notched the second Lutron receptacle and installing that was simple because I had resolved the issue.Moral of the story is sometimes these covers install in. 2 minutes and sometimes it’s 30 minutes or more,even with decades of DIY experience.These lights are excellent for usability and longevity but be prepared for anything installation wise when they arrive. I love these lighted outlet plates. They light up at night when they sense that the room is too dark. They provide strong, white light that is directed downward, not into your eyes. They work as well as any nightlight we have used. They are unobtrusive and they leave both electrical outlets free for use. The SnapPower GuideLight is quick and easy to install.

I originally ordered four outlet covers with the following description..."4 Pack - SnapPower GuideLight 2 for Outlets [New Version - LED Light Bar] - Night Light - Electrical Outlet Wall Plate With LED Night Lights - Automatic On/Off Sensor - (Duplex, White)"The outlet covers came before the promised delivery date and have a very neat feature that was not in the description. They have an on/off switch where you can shut them off or set them to medium or high brightness levels. They were very easy to install and look incredible. So much so that I wanted six more.So I go back to Amazon to order some more. The original four pack that I bought was out of stock, plus I would need to order another two pack. So I start looking for alternative package options and found that the two pack package were in stock with the following description..."2 Pack - SnapPower GuideLight 2 for Outlets [New Version - LED Light Bar] - Night Light - Electrical Outlet Wall Plate With LED Night Lights - Automatic On/Off Sensor - (Duplex, White)"The 2 Pack packages were a bit more (like $0.80), but I wanted them and didn't want to wait on restocking so I order three packages. I ordered them on Monday, 12/23 and the promised delivery date was Saturday, 12/28. To my shock I received them Tuesday, 12/14. A nice surprise, indeed.So, the next day I go to install them and the six new outlet covers do not have the on/off switch, they just have the auto sensor. I go back and reread the product descriptions, both the header descriptions and bulleted descriptions, for both orders. The product descriptions are the same, but they are not the same product -- close but not exact.I took care in reading the product descriptions to make sure that I got what I originally ordered and have to admit I'm a bit bummed that the new ones don't have the on/off switch. Granted these things are not cheap, but I figured I could put them in places that get a lot of light to minimize the need for the switch. If you are not willing to do something like this, then you may want to contact the seller before pulling the trigger or be willing to send them back.We do love the product, but are a bit disappointed with the inconsistencies in the products and their descriptions.And for the record, the first four that we received were the "GuideLight 2 Plus". I would recommend both versions that I have, but would steer others to the "Plus", the switch is a very cool feature.

These covers look nice and are easy to install. The light is bright enough to easily walk up and down the stairs I installed them on in the dark.They don't quite sit flush against the wall, but you can't really tell.The auto dimmer doesn't work as well I had hoped and isn't as quick to respond as I would expect.Overall a good product.

Got these fast...installed them in 2 minutes! I was happy I could do it so easy...just unscrew the one screw in the old plate,pop it off,then place the new plate on and screw it right in place. The light pops on immediately.(I didn't turn off the circuit breaker...I was told it wasn't necessary and they were right! Guessing because it was a simple outlet and I didn't stick the screwdriver anywhere but in the hole the screw fits in!) This simple lighted plate is ingenious! As seen in the picture it shows the light projects down onto the floor with a nice glow. Really effective seeing the floor area without being a bright blinding nuisance. It is a sensor..turns on when its dark. Just perfect! I just wish I was smart enough to invent this!😆

We bought a set of duplex for our hallway and a set GCFI for our bathrooms. Both versions installed easily and work great! Very happy with them and may order more for our downstairs.

We had to give up our regular nightlight when we added a WiFi extender and couldn’t fit another plug in. Now we can have both and I actually like the nightlight on this one better because it points downward and even though it’s the same amount of light, it somehow seems more subtle.

It was quick and easy to install. Provides just enough light to walk down dark hallways.

Wasn’t able to install. Screws for installation in middle and not top and bottom of plate. Specs not clear to me on website. Lots of tech talk. Would require a professional to look at specs to make sure you purchase the correct item. Have seen this product in a home and I was quite impressed but he had electrician install it. Will have to return the item. :(. Good value for money if you could install it the proper wall socket! And the installation would be easy as well.
