Have you already considered building your own bike? It is a great way to improve your knowledge about bicycle mechanics and allow you to do all sorts of small maintenance jobs yourself in the future. On top of this, it allows you to create something really individual by choosing each component. We encourage you in this great project! We have a lot to learn from nature! Bamboo is a great example of a material which shows amazing properties, while being sustainable and ecological. This bamboo frame is hand-built to the highest standards. It has been tested and validated to ensure sufficient rigidity and strength. It is built from thick section bamboo tubes of the strongest sort in the world : the famous Vietnamese iron bamboo, reaching wall thicknesses of 10mm or more. After a thorough drying phase lasting several months, the tubes are ready to be connected together to form a bicycle frame. A composite material is used for this where hemp fibers are wrapped multiple times with resin to create a thick block joining the different connecting parts. This allows a strong and durable connection while keeping an elegant natural look as the fibers can be seen through the resin. Metal parts are used for external connections (head tube, seat tube, crank tube, dropouts) so that clamping or screwing of external parts is done in metallic parts to allow a long lifetime. A multi-layer surface treatment is the applied to the complete final frame to ensure a durable weather resistance so the rain showers are not to be feared.Detailed specifications : * For 700c or 28” wheels, maximum tire width 28mm * Horizontal rear dropouts * 1" Head tube * For BSA bottom bracket, width 68 mm * For 25.4 mm seat post * Rear width, dropout to dropout 120 mm * Weight : 3.1 kg
