So lovely and very nice quality
I adore these cookie cutters. Although they’re so intricate, they are easy to use (make sure your dough is well chilled and then lightly flour the bottom of the cutters before cutting; if you have any trouble releasing, the holes are large enough to fit a chopstick in to gently help it release.) They are also easy to wash, I just popped them in a bowl of warm soapy water for a couple minutes before rinsing thoroughly and they came completely clean.

Lovely Christmas cutters for grown ups!
Yes, they take a little getting used to- don’t expect to just punch and go! These cutters are excellent for adults who want to make stunning Christmas biscuits- you need to use a little brush or stick to poke the biscuit through so they don’t stick in the fiddly bits and take some time but the results are well worth it! Beautiful high quality cutters!

Lovely cutters however getting the pastry out isn't easy as it is so fiddly..

great for salt dough- but very laborious!
I have just finishing making 9 stars and it has taken me 3 hours. Then foolishly baked the salt dough at too hot a temperature, and now have 6 (have dropped one as well. am very proud of my efforts and will make really special but very cheap presents for friends. They are ideal fo salt dough, and presumably air-dry clay - but for icing I have my doubts. It must be said that while they look really good uncooked mine had rough edges which I was unable scrape off.You have to think you are doing a piece of art In the image I have includes stars mad using the lakeland little cookie cookers. Much easier and quicker to use. and having more individuality and creativity about them. (See my other images in reviews of the cutters. Colouring -I used some red spray paint I happened to have, acrylic gold paint and various iridescent paints I had,Here is my method for getting the salt dough out of the cutters - nut just a question of picking cutter up!1. Cover a piece of board about 15" by 20' with non-stick paper -this means you can twist your work easily. I sat on a sofa, resting my elbow on the arm. This way you have better control of everything (You can slide your efforts onto baking try without touching them.2 roll out the salt dough (50-50 salt and flour) I used a bottle as I have no rolling pin -at less less than a cm3 press the start into the dough DON"T try to pick it up. I found a lino-cutting tool is ideal, but need some thing which you can scoop out the hole, especially the circles - having the board means that you can work from different angles, and tilt it as well.4.now you are going to remove the cutter- this again takes time and care. You need to push down on the dough, while very carefully lifting the cutter by pressing down on one side and pulling up on the other. At the same time tap down on the dough. `Work around in a circle Using any suitable (handle of soup spoon, cotton bud. a piece of 8mm dowel rod ) gently work around the star. I found a small lino cutting tool with a 'V' shape excellent. It is the worth the effort, and as a piece of mindfulness it it does help! (check out my review if the cookie cutters.Worth saying that if you use a 2 inch plain cutter, and work around the edge with any of the large star cutters, and then use the small ones for the inside, you get some really pretty small snowflakes with none of the hassle mentioned above. Also 2" cutter is much more reasonable to have on a Christmas tree without bowing the branches. You di need to leave plenty of space as otherwise you mess up a previous snowflake.2nd image are salt -dough snowflakes ready for decoration, made using a plain 2 inch cutter and a combination of the little cutters and using the large cutters around the edge. Plenty of scope for personal creativity - much quicker than using the large snowflake cutters on their own. I thoroughly enjoyed doing these - and it being 30/12/2019, I'm getting ready for next year! Might sell for charity.

Lovely cutters but...
Lovely cutters but they are hard to clean and you have to flour them all the time to stop the dough or paste from sticking to them. Also very hard to clean and as a result one of mine developed rust spots.A lot of paitience is needed

Doesn't work and went rusty the first time I left to soak
Used (or rather tried to use) only once. I consider myself very experienced at making biscuits, having made many before very successfully and without problems with other cutters, but no matter how much flour I added to the dough, it only gets stuck in the tiny little holes of these snowflake cutters. No amount of banging it against the table will make the dough come out! Furthermore, I had to leave the cutters to soak overnight in a bowl of warm soapy water, to try to remove the dough and they just went a funny, rusty colour. Scrubbing won't remove. Certainly not stainless material. I've ended up with completely unusable cutters after only one attempt to use them, and they don't work at all anyway. A nice idea if it would work, but it doesn't!

Very pretty, but completely useless
Well made, sturdy and the designs are attractive. Unfortunately that is where the good news stops. The intricacy of the designs which makes them so attractive, also makes them impossible to use. I used them for clay but I see others had the same problem with pastry or fondant. It is impossible to get the snowflake shape out of the cutter in one piece or even several pieces that you could somehow stick back together again. Total destruction of the cut shape is the only way to remove whatever you are cutting, and even then small pieces get left behind in the nooks and crannies. Absolutely maddening, useless and a huge disappointment. Not cheap either when you factor in the cost of postage.

Must have for winter time
Just what I wanted. Nice and good quality cutters. Using it for cookies! A must have in winter. A little harder to clean, but make sense with all the small little holes.
