This product is added to watercolours to help smooth applications of paint and to give a slightly glossy finish once dried.I simply add a dan of this to a pallet well of water, then mix it with my colours as required while mixing.It certainly does improve the lay down of colour - it goes on smooth and even, providing an excellent flat wash and, depending on how much you add, will give a sheen to the dried paint.Sometimes I wish I could get the lay down benefit without the sheen, but it is an interesting effect.Where I do like the sheen is in abstract art - using this adds variety to the colours put down and, in conjunction with their iridescent and granular mediums, gives a broad range of possibilities!For the money, it’s worth having. It’ll last a long while, and bring something different to your painting.

I was able to make DIY watercolour paints with this Gum Arabic that I can use together with my paints that I bought before. I'm happy with this product.

According to my artist wife it is a much needed item to help her when she creates her pictures.

I've no idea how this rates against other Gum Arabic, but it worked perfectly for me. I used it to make my own pearlescent watercolour paints, mixing it with Perfect Pearl and similar pearlescent powders.

Have tried this with my water colours but not much to report . Didn't pop any colours gave a vague sheen wouldn't recommend.Maybe I just need to find what it can do but so far not for me
