Excellent
After reading and loving the first book in this series, I was excited to read this one. And it did not disappoint!I particularly like the style of writing - you’re drawn in and are quickly invested in all the characters. This book has something for everyone, beautiful courtesans, mistreated younger son, bullying tyrants, thugs and rogues (look out for Butcher!).I can’t wait for the next book!

An enthralling combination of romantic escapism and historical reality!
I really enjoyed following the story of Kitty and Sidney, two tender-hearted, good-natured romantic characters. Their romantic narrative certainly kept me guessing as external obstacles (not least their own family members) threatened to take eternal happiness from their possession. The sweetness of the romantic hero and heroine, and their determination to live quietly and happily together, was engagingly contrasted against moments revealing the dark underbelly of Regency reality.I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the historical research that went into this novel and it is evident in the nuanced narrative. It simultaneously leans into the escapism of regency fantasy that is so popular with fans of this period while presenting uncomfortable truths and sobering realities of the experiences of people who really lived in that era.A great read!

I adored every scintillating page
In George’s dazzling version of the Regency, a fiery courtesan can outwit a devilish duke, and a tender-hearted clergyman, with Corinthian physique, is ready to fight for his true love. Kitty and Sid break the mould - I adored every scintillating page.

Brilliant read
One of my easiest 5 star reads given this year.I thought I'd make a start on this read, and a few hours later, I realised I'd read it in one sitting, simply not able to put this down.I was hooked on this book from the off and fell in love with Kitty and Sidney quickly. I like how the author shook up the norm of events (no spoilers) which made for more fun reading.Steam factor 50, my goodness the chemistry nearly burns the pages they are SO hot! Did remind me of Harlots the TV show a tad, but for all the right reasons. This is sassy, fun, naughty but all with love at the heart. Glorious.

Set in early 1800’s
Having read the first book of the Gentlemen of London Regency Romance series, I was so very excited to read this second in series, and I certainly have enjoyed reading it.This book works perfectly well as a stand alone, though it references and briefly returns some of the characters from book one. This book set in the early 1800’s is mainly centred around the beautiful Kitty Preece, a courtesan, who lives and works with her four courtesan sisters.Handsome Sidney Wakefield, actually Curate Sidney Wakefield has been her good and loyal friend for six years.Sidney, a dreamer, sees things through rose coloured spectacles, wants to be a writer, an author, he calls Kitty his Muse.I found myself flying through this book, wanting to know what would happen next, and second guessing myself. A very interesting book, and most enjoyable. An historical era, those of the upper class, those that have, and what those who don’t have, have to do whilst co existing.A racy, steamy book in places, but it works well to the storyline.I also found the acknowledgements at the back of the book very interesting. Many thanks to the author for an advanced e-book copy. Opinions about the book are entirely my own.

Excellent read
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and really loved the descriptions of the Regency period in London so good it made me feel as though I was there. I liked how the characters were gradually introduced to the reader. A really good roller coaster of a read.

Another excellent Regency romance from Felicity George
This is a fabulous addition to this new series from Felicity George, equally as good if not better than the first. George's Regency romances are well-researched and well-written with engaging characters. I'm very excited for the next in the series!
