Brilliant!
Plunger hadn't worked, and I'd already disassembled the U-bend to see if the blockage was there but it looked like the problem was further down the pipe.. past 2 L-bends on 40mm drainage pipe. Trying to use liquid drain unblocker looked unsafe since there was no liquid flowing, chemicals would have just come straight out of where the U-bend was and not reach the blockage. After spending a couple of hours trying to scheme a way of either removing some of the water in the pipes to get the liquid unblocker there, I thought I'd take a punt on this. Was worried whether it would make it's way around the 2 L-bends as there was an item like this at twice the price on Screwfix that said it wasn't suitable for going around L-bends.Amazon Prime delivered on the same day for free so this item probably came quicker than a plumber would have taken to schedule in. Within a minute of giving this item a go, water was flowing freely again.. amazing!Like other reviewers have helpfully said - the coiled wire automatically is pushing itself outwards, so just keep turning the handle and it will work it's way through corners.. and then 'screw' through the blockage itself.I left mine out to dry (to hopefully avoid rusting), before pushing the wire back into the handle to coil it up.. then tigtened the thumb screw to keep it coiled. Already looking forward to the next blockage so I can give this bad boy another outing! It's saved a hefty plumbers fee so at £12.10 it was always worth a shot even if it hadn't worked.. or if I need to get a new one for next time.

Actually working DIY solution for blocked drains
TL;DR:It's a great tool if you don't mind getting messy and dirty.Pros:- Actually works!!- Cheaper and quicker than getting a plumberCons:- May not fit in the sink holes so you may need to remove the pipes- Can get messy and dirty- Not that easy to clean this product after use- Not that easy to retract the lead once it's fully extended (have to pry off the cap in the middle of the dial and pull the lead back)Detailed review:Really glad that this product solved my nightmare. My kitchen drain was blocked and water runs extremely slow. Tried different liquid solution (i.e. enzymes and branded chemical unblocker) and didn't work. Also tried to take off the pipes that I can reach to clean and appears that the problem is deeper down in the pipes. Didn't want to wait for my landlord to solve this issue for me so I tried my luck with this product. The lead was too big for the kitchen sink holes so I had to remove the pipes first. Didn't have much luck the first time as I didn't know how to make this thing bend. After looking it up on YouTube and I leant how to operate this tool:1. Discover the bend while feeding the lead into the pipe (You can feel the lead hitting the pipe)2. Adjust the lead to appropriate length (Give it a little space from the end of the pipe)3. Lock the lead in place with the screw4. Rotate the dial while pushing the whole tool (and the lead) further down into the pipe5. Once it is bend, unlock the lead with the screw then proceed to feed the lead inAt last, the end of the lead was full of grease and that seemed to be the problem. Put the pipes back and ran hot water for a minute. The sink is fully unblocked and good as new!Cleaning the product is not easy tho. The whole lead catches dirt and grease on it so I had to brush them off and soak it into cleaning products.Note: I am not a professional and this is my first time unblocking the drain by myself. Hope this review helped.

Does the job but on the cheap side
Unblocked the pipe is needed, but the back pops off when I try to recoil it so it's cheaply made. Can't really complain due to the price though I guess

Work perfectly and saved more expensive treatments
I was sceptical this would do the trick however blockage removed in minutes. For months we've had a slow draining shower, tried the usual pour down the drain treatments which had little impact, plungers, air pressure, nothing worked.Deciding to give this a go we removed the drain connecter near the sink as the blockage appeared to be around that point, fed the wire down and hit what felt like a blockage a meter or so down the pipe. Some elbow grease and turns of the handle and all of a sudden it continued to feed down the pipe and water was flowing freely again.Took all of ten minutes and now we're blockage free! It'll take a bit of patience to navigate bends but it certainly worked for us.

A Big Flop
I paid a little bit more as wary of cheaper brands so went for draper but sadly the quality was still lacking. Due to a current problem I set straight to it and opened the product. It unravelled very rapidly, I’d say at times quicker than I was expecting. Unfortunately though the problem came when I wanted to wind it back up. It took a bit of effort to get it going but once it started it just continually twisted and took an unbelievable long time to do just half of it. Then after continuing to twist it sprung back and now all I have is a 7.5m length of metal and no way of winding it up. Have to say the thought is there but the final product just isn’t strong or sturdy enough to hold the wire inside. I’ve had the product half a day, had about half an hour use out of it and the rest of the time it’s been on the floor whilst I wonder what I’m going to do with or how I’m going to store a 7.5m length of metal. With this I have to say I would not recommend this product as it has become an expensive flop. I have tools that have lasted years or even decades not just hours.
