The VW Beetle Story (The Story Series)

Whether this omission is deliberate or an oversight is hard to say but it does rather let down what is otherwise a good little book
This is a quite concise book covering most aspects the VW Beetle, including the hideous and rather impractical present-day versions of this iconic car. There are plenty of illustrations and the author has added a splash of humour here and there - always a welcome touch in any car book. The prewar origins of what began life as the Kdf-wagen are adequately covered but one glaring omission is details of the half dozen early cars which, at least on paper, were allocated to senior Nazi officials. For example, the car allocated to Robert Ley and which is still in existence is not mentioned at all. Whether this omission is deliberate or an oversight is hard to say but it does rather let down what is otherwise a good little book.
