Two Stars
Great book, but not in very good condition. A lot ofor pages ripped and drawn on.

lovely!
The children liked the illustrations as they were by the same illustrator as many of the Julia Donaldson books that we have read. We had been raising caterpillars and they have recently hatched into butterflies so this book was perfect literature to build on the learning experience. They also loved the pop-up page at the back!

Ben Plants a Butterfly Garden
My little one loves this book. It is a great introduction to what happens in a garden, easy to understand and nicely illustrated. Enough flaps to maintain interest but not distracting. Perfect if you are planning a garden/allotment with children or trying to explain about eggs/caterpillars/butterflies. Our little one particularly likes the surprise at the end.

Good introduction for young children
I first read this book to my son in the library at Wisley Gardens, I bought it when I discovered that his nursery were doing projects on Spring and Gardening. It's a great introduction to the life-cycle of both plants and butterflies and written in a child-friendly way, with plenty of discovery and lift-the-flap pages. I wish they still did the seeds with the book, but we have had lots of fun planting our butterfly garden and my son now knows what will happen while the seeds are growing.

wonderful for preschoolers to learn about gardening
I used this book in my 3-5 y old preschool class. Delightful illustrations, colorful and explanatory about how a seed becomes a flower. This was a favorite during our springtime unit
