Lovely drillbit
classic drillbit, nice and substantial. makes mincemeat of the wall, creating a nice tubular hole, which is almost a shame to fill up with a screw.

Excellent Bits
First thing to get out the way is that I use standard bits for indoors and normal brick only, preferring to use SDS for heavy duty jobs - larger holes or harder materials.Although these are listed as concrete I really buy them for longevity rather than actually using them on concrete. Again, I would use an SDS drill and bits for concrete and harder materials like engineering brick. Used on softer materials ( standard block and brick ) these will last a very long time, making them excellent value. I bought this set to replace the last set I bought about ten years ago!! So yes they do last a long time as long as you take reasonable care with them.A very important feature of this set is that it has a 7mm bit. Most sets do not. I don't know about you, but I use 7mm wall plugs for No.10 screws. You can buy 8mm wall plugs instead but it seems a lot easier to just buy a set of bits with a 7mm bit!! It's unfortunate that this set doesn't include a 5.5mm. Oddly that size is sometimes useful for 5mm wall plugs. Don't ask me why but that slight over-size is helpful with some materials, especially plaster. To complement the set, I also buy 3mm drills of the same type. You may wonder why(!) but I find the 3mm drills as an excellent starter when I really need to position the hole accurately.Anyway! They are great drills, buy some!

fastest holes I have drilled in brick yet
I was struggling with old drill bits doing some house-hold renovations - eventually cracked and grabbed this set of bits. I was really surprised at just how fast I could drill into brick and ended up doing 2 different jobs at home, with time to chill before lunch ! I was using a battery-powered Hammer Bosch drill and even had the second battery all charged and ready - that is still in the box unused. I cannot emphasise how impressed I am with this. Only time will tell regarding the life of these bits - but I will definitely buy again if I manage to blunt these ones.

Cheap but very effective
I got some free drill bits with my drill, but the masonry ones were only really fit for plaster! I needed a bigger size to wall-mount a TV, so grabbed a couple of these, expecting them to have the same 'qualities' as my free ones, and to wear out quickly. No, sir! Even though my chimney-breast bricks appear to have been made by Vulcan himself out of iron-hard granite, just one of these bits did all seven holes to a depth of 60mm without any apparent loss of sharpness. Brilliant! So... I have a spare one if anyone needs it, haha.

Good drill bits, look after them to increase their life..
Reviewed March 2021:Been using these to fix a wooden frame to walls made of redbrick and also Cotswold stone, plus a couple of anchor points into a concrete floor, so I've given them a fair workout. They have help up well, being able to deal with all I needed. A wise person once told me, and its been proven by previous experience, that the quality drill bits are important, and heat is the biggest factor in wearing out the tips.It is important to remove dust build up from any masonry drill. So stopping, pulling the bit (and therefore dust) out of the hole, perhaps blowing the dust clear, will really extend the life of a decent bit.I bought a couple of new bits for my project, think I drilled about 40 holes in total, all with the same bit, and there is still some life left in it.I"ve tended by buy Bosch bits because I've had good experiences with them in the past, previously I've used the 'pro range', that has the blue paint in the recesses, but these are equally as good.I'd buy them again.

Quality Bosch Masonary Bits
I often use a lot of the vinyl screw, expanded anchors for mounting items to block walls. The anchor packs recommend the size masonry bit to use, like 15/64" or 6mm for red; 9/32" or 7mm for green and so on up the different sizes of anchors. Instead of keeping the odd, individual fractional sized bits loose in a tool box, this Bosch set keeps your metric assortment of bits organized and easy to find. AND! The anchors fit the holes properly if you use the correct metric bit instead of rounding up to the nearest fractional sized bit to 'get-er-done!'Like any 'new' tool should, the one bit used so far quickly drilled 4 holes in 80 year old concrete block with river rock filler-stones in it, and the anchors tapped in nicely.Only con is both of the two sets ordered came with cracked, clear plastic windows, but I'm keeping them both sets.
