11+ Vocabulary - Practice Book: KS2 and Eleven Plus

Nice clear book for improving vocabulary easy for child to get on with on their own . However I do take issue with the way words have capital letters when they are not proper nouns. Rather a basic mistake . I am a tutor.

Son used for his 11+ exam which he passed... so must be good book :)

This is a useful book of short exercises to help build vocabulary

Having been an English teacher for almost forty years, I am now working in the private primary sector and I thought this book would be up-to-date and relevant. The words listed, some of which are archaic or would only be useful in a general knowledge quiz, are presented totally without context and, as such, are of very little use in building a child's useable lexicon. In addition, the compilers of the list do not know the difference between a two-syllable word and a compound word. This book has all the hall marks of another bunch of people hopping on the 11+ band-wagon.

Excellent vocabulary book. This is the best I have come across that suits my 10 year old son's learning style.... who likes simplicity and easy to read format. I like the way the words are grouped into categories, they are clear, easy to look at and each exercise consist of 10 easy to digest questions....all child friendly format. I have two other vocabularies books that have not been touched simply because they are not layout-friendly enough for my son to look at.As my son enjoys working from this book, I am looking into getting another Mastering 11+ on other subjects. Thank you Mastering 11+.
