I am a very tech savvy person. My home is almost completely automated, and I installed all my devices myself without problems.However, this camera bulb almost drove me insane, when trying to install.The manufacturer doesn’t offer alternative options to “sonic binding,” which means if the camera is not able to read the code, there is no alternative (manual) install option.In my case the product started to make all kinds of weird noises when scanning and then went on to beep twice every 30 seconds.I was not able to connect it to my home Wifi system, no matter what I tried.Troubleshooting said the firmware might be outdated and it needs to be updated manually.The procedure is as follows: Put a SD card in the card reader of your laptop and format it with FAT32 file system. My laptop is a Windows 11 OS, and the only file systems offered for formatting is “ExFAT” as default, or NTFS.The web address provided for downloading the firmware is invalid.When you go to the main page of the manufacturer, YITechnology, this product is not even listed, ergo you can’t find the internal link to the firmware. 🙄I had a similar bulb camera from a different seller on Amazon prior to this one, but it fell victim to hurricane Ian. This other seller is currently not selling the product on Amazon, so I figured there can’t be many differences between these products and ordered this one.Boy, was I wrong!!After messing with this worthless product for nearly 2 hours, with no results, I decided to return it to Amazon, and try out a bulb camera from a different seller that doesn’t require me to jump through hoops to make it work.Off the many home automation devices I purchased and installed, this one is the most terrible when it comes to the installation process and support.After contacting the seller with my problem, I was advised that I had to change my home Wi-Fi password, if it contained any special characters, as their software won’t connect to a Wi-Fi system protected by a password that contains special characters.I am not willing to downgrade the strength of my Wi-Fi password to be able to run this device.For that reason I am returning this item.

I've had these cameras for a while now and took my time to come and review, so I could actually give my honest opinion. I bought the two pack. Pros, excellent picture quality. You can see past 100 ft. clearly in daylight hours. The infra red at night is clear also. You may not be able to see as clear that far but, you can identify movement. I have two wifi settings. 2.4G and 5 G. The camera's are on the 2.4G. You must make sure your phone and camera's are on the same wifi settings, or they won't work. You can utilize the SD cards that come with the camera's. They do work in recording and storing footage without purchasing the cloud storage. Make sure sd card is inserted properly. (Can hang half way out) It can be inserted not all the way, and the camera will say it's inserted. Push in till it clicks and barley visible. After the simple set up, the instructions are simple to get started. Microphone to speak to someone is good. Cons, audio sound isn't as good. It fads in and out and will just shut off sometime by itself. The gimbal that rotates will sometimes keep just rotating and won't stay set to it's original set position when it's windy or rainy and things are constantly moving around. The smart notification setting needs additional settings. I've got them on low and it seems like that's a medium high setting. There's only 3 settings, high, medium and low. Should be highest, medium high, medium, medium low and lowest. Seems like my back camera goes offline quite a bit. When you go into settings to fix, there is nothing to go into. You can't check the connection cause there's nothing there to go into. All you get in the app setting is, camera is offline, delete camera. Unlike when it's online or connected. You can check connection, look at SD recording and Camera settings. I've only had that happen on front camera a couple times. So I'm thinking, I may have a bad connection in the back. The back camera is screwed into my motion detection flood light. I had to buy an extender because the flood light socket is too deep. So I may need to buy a regular light fixture and replace the older motion detection flood light. But the Yi lot app needs work. The camera's also have a 2 - 3 second delay lag. But, they work. The price I paid for them both was a deal. I can speak and keep an eye on my dog and property. See and speak to strangers without opening my door. I'm not upset about my purchase. It gets 4 stars because of this.

Has a great picture but the audio is very poor. And hard to setup and if you loose or turn off the power for very long you will have to do the setup again. It was cheap so I guess I got my moneys worth.

I ordered this item for my daughter as one of her bday gifts.She sent me a video of how clear the recording is and I was in awe!! This is a great product for the price and works awesome. She can now see her home from her phone and feels more secure. I am happy w this purchase.

Got the two pack. On stopped working within 3 weeks. The other about a month and a half after that. When they worked they were great.Both were installed outside but in covered, protected areas. Did not get wet, ever. Just did not like the cold (30f) weather I guess.I will spend more money and get better ones.
