Elegant Brands(47069 Laundry) White wooden Laundry Bin - tongue and groove style

This laundry bin/stool looks really nice - ok, it is engineered wood (i.e. MDF) rather than real wood but good value and it is strong and sturdy. It is a bit of a fiddle to assemble, especially the hinges, and I would follow the advice of a previous reviewer who recommended screwing a screw part-way into each hole before assembly - it makes it much easier to get them in when you are attaching the hinges and the closing brackets. Also recommend that you follow the assembly instructions in exactly the order given on the instruction sheets: it is much the easiest way to do it. The drawings are quite clear. The only downside is that the small screws supplied for the hinges are the usual rubbish soft steel posidriv screws. If you don't screw them in right first time the cross thread on top of the screw wears away very fast and nothing will turn them. I was a bit disappointed that despite the excellent packing of the item, the front panel had a chip on it - which must have happened in the factory and not in the packaging. Quality control slipping. I did send a message to the manufacturer - no response - and it is not sufficiently serious to warrant sending it back. Other than that, it is a very nice looking laundry bin.

Nice size of box for washing and sitting on for drying yourself in the bathroom.It did have a very strong smell though when it arrived and took a while for it to go.

I was worried that this laundry bin wouldn’t be large enough for my family. We go through a lot of dirty clothes due to sports that I need to be kept in this bin until washed. It has managed to work well for us.As others have mentioned, there is a clicking of the lid which you hear every time you open or close the lid. I also have the bin on tile and bought felt foot protectors for the feet of the bin to protect it and the floor when it’s moved.The white looks clean and fits well in our bathroom.Very happy with this purchase.

Easy to assemble

Very easy to make, didn’t take long at all and I liked the fact there were stickers on all the main pieces so you knew which was which. Made within half an hour, not bad for a lone woman 😊

Looks nice however the screws were too small and did not hold the basket properly. We had to use our own.

I had difficulty finding a box to fit a particular space and so was really pleased to find this. It is a nice looking item but some of the fixing pieces would not tighten and unfortunately the ones that did broke the melamine surface, which has spoilt it.

Sadly two pieces were damaged when delivered , contacted the company direct and within 24hrs had replacement pieces, no quibbling.Its a lovely piece and just what i was looking for as a laundry hamper to match my bedroom furniture.
