Take this review from the perspective of someone who doesn't spend a lot of money on bath care. I'm the kind of person who is happy with a bottle of scented Old Spice Body Wash and a loofah.So, right out of the gate, the two concerning factors about this Discovery Gift Set for me was one, I would be going back to using bar soap after all these years and two, how pricey this proposition would be.The price seems to be the huge factor in considering this kind of purchase. You are getting 12 bars for (at the tme of this review) just under $90.In defense of the purchase price, this is a well-established manufacturer with a reputation of making high-end 100% natural exfoliating and moisturing soap. Each bar is 7 ounces, double the weight and thickness of ordinary soap.There is a lot to try here -- and I haven't gotten to them all -- but thus far I have tried the charcoal and #102 body scrub. The initial reaction is that these soaps produce an exceptional, satisfying lather with a nice earthy scent. The #102 was a particularly eye-opening experience with its heavy grit exfoliation. It feels a bit like wet sandpiper when applying, but does an excellent job of stripping dirt and dead skin cells from your body.Both these bars did an amazing job of cleansing my skin, more noticeably than the body wash I had been using. The only negative points I would make is that my skin felt a bit more dried out afterward and it doesn't leave its wonderful, masculine scent lingering on your skin (which I would have preferred). That being said, there is a moisturing bar included here that I am looking forward to trying.After using Marlowe for the past few days it's obvious to me that you can't compare this brand to ordinary bar soap. These bars feel high-end and they are free of sulfates that can be harsh on the skin.While this Discovery Gift Set is indeed pricey, I would guarantee that the man this is gifted to will consider this selection of bars to be the most memorable present he has received in a long time. I can certainly recognize and appreciate how premium this product feels on my skin and how much cleaner I feel afterward.One final note many may not tell you: These soaps do leave a layer of residue in your tub. The charcoal soap, in particular, leaves a dirty layer. I suppose this is one of the downfalls in switching from liquid to bar soap.

This is one great soap set!I have been using the Body Scrub Soap Bar for the past week and it is fantastic. The bears are substantial in size and are much larger than a standard body bar. The scent it not too intense and the consistency of the bar is very good with the scrub materials. It kinda feels like someone is giving you a deep scrub with a natural loofa.The soaps feel very premium and excellently created and wrapped.I have so far just been using the one bar, but I am actually kind of excited to try the others based on my experience with the first one I grabbed out of the set.I have sniffed the other bars and they all have a very natural scent kinda like you were walking into the woods and smelling the good scents of a forrest.Overall this is a very good value and a very excellent box set of soaps. I highly recommend this as a set to try out what you might like or even as a gift(s) for people. I found that some of the scents may be better suited as a scent for men, but in the box there are a few neutral smelling bars that either men or women would enjoy.

WOW, this gift set comes with plenty of soaps to last for a year! I love all the different varieties included. They smell amazing, and they leave my husband feeling clean and smelling clean. They do not leave behind a strong, overpowering scent, which a huge plus. I love that they are made in the US and my husband loves that they are gentle on the skin. So happy to have a found a great quality product that my husband enjoys

Though I'm a woman, I've found that I love Marlowe soaps. They are a good quality soap that are great on all skin types, as well as being just as good for women as they are for men. They are formulated for men which means that men will take to these easily. Not heavily scented at all. In fact, any scent is barely noticeable and would probably be fine for most who don't care for scented products. When you do smell them, they are not only mild, but quite pleasing to the nose. Very clean and natural.These are very dense bars of soap that hold up well in water and will last for a long time. You can feel that they are quite weighty and are also a good size. Somewhat large bars of soap that fit well in a man's hand.You receive a nice variety here for different needs. Everything from a super cleansing charcoal soap to a more refined polishing soap... and everything in between.This entire set is a consideration if you are looking for stocking stuffers. Just break open the box and put a bar in each stocking. Although, I personally prefer the entire case because I find these soaps to be that good.
