Irwin Visegrip 4Lw Locking Wrench 4In

After doing a little research online, I learned that this was the BEST tool out there to remove rounded brake pipe connectors. The reviews I read were all completely true. Delivery was fast, product is TOP QUALITY, and my siezed brake pipes were freed within 5 minutes of it's arrival. A great addition to my toolbox, and one that saved me from a large labour charge in a garage on this occasion, and many more I guess. :)

A lot smaller than I expected, should of read the description more carefully.

I had a slightly rounded 10mm flare nut on a brake lime that was corroded to the pipe. Various flare nut wrenches did not help. In desperation I tried regular vice grips - didn't help and damaged it still further. This tool did the job. It's a special case, but for rounded flare nuts on brake lines this is the thing.

Parrot beak, self locking Visegrip wrench (100mm length) Useful to grip and turn deformed hexagon nuts & bolts. You will need 100mm turning circle/radius or release wrench and re - grip in restricted space. Suitable for gripping other shapes too, use with care. Sizes available, 100mm, 175mm and 250mm. Proper vide grip but probably a bit small at 4” would have been better buying the bigger set.

Bought this for the screw-in end of a clutch line to clutch main cylinder connection. Couldn’t grip the nut tight enough not to slip on turning… just ended up rounding the nut. Tried it again on seized brake line nut… same outcome. Just doesn’t grip tight enough, despite having the adjustment so tight you could barely clip it on… still slips with relatively light turning force.

This thing is cool. I love tools - especially small ones that can fit into a small EDC pouch.These are lightweight and TINY! - but they are sturdy and the normal quality you would expect from VISE-GRIP.I didn't know what to expect with the shape of the head, but you can grab small bolts and screws really well with it. It also grabs anything round (tube, pipe etc) really well and maybe doesn't mar it as bad as a normal vise-grip. (or maybe just as bad. Not the right tool if you are worried about scratches).The 'wire-cutters' are a joke, as with most locking pliers with this feature. I suppose it could work in a ... pinch?

I have used Vise-Grips for years. When you really have to lock onto something, they can be very useful. While working on my brakes, I had several corroded bleeder valves. I had absolutely stripped one while attempting to remove it. After checking somethings out online, I decided to try this type of Vise-Grip, that grips 3 surfaces of the nut not just 2. I ordered all 3 sizes because I wasn’t sure which size would fit best in the space I had to work with. Well, I am really glad that I did. The Vise-Grip locked onto the bleeder valve and EASILY removed it! Wonderful product! I am happy to have the 3 different sizes of this type of Vise-Grip in my tool box.
