I like making popcorn with oil and being able to put salt and butter inside as the popcorn is cooking. Easy to use but don't bother with butter doesn't melt on top

This popcorn maker makes great popcorn. However, the black lid that you place onto the clear dome never fit correctly - almost like it was too small. Contacted the company, they said there was nothing they could do because they don't separate individual parts and they wouldn't send me a new machine. They asked if I was okay with a credit of $6 and could I just use a household plate? Ok, I'll try it. My hands were not big enough to hold "household plate" firmly so that butter wouldn't spill all over my counter. I email them and tell them this fun fact and they proceed to tell me I don't need to hold it on top. Just place the plate on the counter and flip the clear bowl onto it. They even sent me a video (with no popcorn in the clear bowl, of course). If you know how these machines work, the "flip the bowl onto the plate method" with butter in the lid and popcorn in the bowl will not work (unless you want a complete mess every time you make popcorn). All whilst emailing back and forth, my return window closes, so I contacted Amazon and very graciously, they accepted my return after explaining the whole situation. And, yes, I know I could melt butter separately and add after the whole popping process, but this machine was brand new and the black lid never fit. I expect something to work correctly as new.

I chose this popper because the base is removable for easy cleaning. I've used only West Bend Stir Crazy poppers in the past, but I didn't have much luck with my last one, as it lasted only 2 yrs. Only half the kernels were popping the last few months. When I removed the base cover, I noticed that some oil had seeped onto the components, which was probably the problem. Interestingly, my first West Bend popper lasted about 20 yrs. Unfortunately, nothing is made to last anymore. I've used this popper twice and so far, it's working great. You just have to be careful to turn off the unit as soon as the popping slows down. Otherwise, you'll have some burnt popcorn. Hopefully, I'll have better luck with this one!

I purchased this because I needed to have a snack that was low and fat content, this product work great, from day one, almost every single kernel pop, every single time! However, the lid and the cover for using it as a bow, very low quality!Holding the lid with one hand, ill-advisable .If you hold the lid buy us end, where the side protrudes, it will crack!This is a problem, simply because, the only thing in the lid, is, popcorn! Popcorn is not heavy popcorn is light and fluffy by nature, so why would this lid not be designed to handle the weight of the popcorn especially if a party were handling the lid from the protruding holding section with one hand? I will tell you, because the designers did not take it into consideration, like you're Orville REDENBACHER or your STIR CRAZIES, is why. AND THAT'S A SHAME, because as I said, this is the one that pops almost every single colonel, every single time, is lightweight, doesn't take up a lot of space. However, the lid, the little black cover, will warp over time and not stay affixed, this is a design flaw with every single one that I've tested - four so far - but out of the four, this one was the best by far.

The media could not be loaded. I was popped popcorn so when I tried to turn it off, it wouldn’t go off. I tried 2 more times and it finally shut off but then I noticed the button was loose. Now it does not come on at all. The black lid is also too big for the popper. I did love how it popped!
