I ordered and installed model GS886F combination Smoke/CO detectors throughout my home. Within four months, one of the units started chirping with a “battery low” announcement. I replaced the batteries multiple times, but… it continues chirping with a battery low warning.I visited the manufacturer’s support web site and submitted a request for help. it took some time to get a response, but… they did solve the problem:Press and briefly hold the center button three times in under two seconds. This will reset the device.

Very easy to install, but after 2 years, one by one, they starting going off in the middle of the night. I had to literally take them apart and snip the wires on the battery to get them to stop. VERY loud, definitely gets your attention! I will purchase again, but don't expect them to last for 10 years.

I ordered these to fill all our bedrooms upstairs since our house came with none. Every single unit in this multi pack has failed. For each one, the would go off indicating that there was smoke randomly. There was never any smoke and they would not shut off. The only way to get the unit to stop malfunctioning would be to take out the batteries which is almost impossible.Sometimes they would malfunction during the day, but many times it was at night and woke up the entire household.Save you money and do not buy this defective product.

After a lot of research, I replaced all my detectors in the house with these. They are inexpensive and have great reviews. Hope to never have to put them to the test though.

I love this combo system . I have it attached to my phone so I can test it without climbing on a ladder. It’s nice and load so it will wake us up which was important to me. The WiFi is a great plus.

By buying this, I may have saved $200 however, I have no peace of mind. Installing the smoke and carbon monoxide detector required me to change my wireless networks from the 5G to the 2.4 G, and I had no issue with that, except that it does mess up my connection to my HomePod. But the only reason why I’m writing this review, it’s the hope to get an answer from the manufacturer and app developer. I purchased the 100 SMS/text alerts per year for $1.99 and yet I cannot get confirmation that I will be receiving those alerts. I am trying to set up what the app calls a “scene” and every time I am told that I have to pay for this. So now I don’t know what I paid for, and I feel like I got ripped off. The customer service number on the box is obviously not a customer service number because it did not pick up. I should’ve just bought the Nest one. Unless somebody from the company can confirm that I will be alerted if the alarm goes off while I’m away from home…
