I bought one of these for a restoration and update of an old bike. I've been using it for the last couple of months and it's been great. The weight is a little over 800g, so it's a bit lighter than the 900+g that the product information indicates - I expect that's the boxed weight. I am running it with a 7/8 speed chain and with an 8 speed cassette at the back. The shifting is good, there is no chewing up of either the chain or chain rings and there is no reason to suppose that there might be: there is no undue rubbing or grinding; in fact it's pretty quiet. However, I used a new chain: an old, worn or stretched chain will damage the chain rings.Before using this chain set, I used a 1990's STX set on the bike and then, briefly, a brand new Shimano Altus level set. The latter was heavy (1050g or thereabouts for the 48T version) and did not have removable chain rings. For roughly the same price, this Sunrace product is a much better buy and a good replacement for the old STX. Roughly speaking, it's mid-range quality for a budget price.

Bought this chainset to replace original one which after 4 years of everyday use was worn out ,the sunrace chainset while not expensive is high quality with the bonus of replaceable chain rings when needed, a good ratio of gearing fitted it myself with minimum effort i would recommend this product
