Works well if you follow instructions
Customer comments made me worry about leakage with this iron, but I have had no problems while using it according to the instructions. The company specifies you should use tap water, empty the water tank after each use and store the iron standing up on its heel, NOT horizontally. Water will drip from the soleplate if you use steam while the iron is not hot enough. To avoid this, stand the iron up on its heel after plugging it in, then wait until the orange thermostat light at the bottom of the handle goes OFF. I didn't see the orange light initially, and I thought the iron was taking a long time to heat up. If you watch the bottom of the handle carefully while the iron is standing, you will see the orange light go on, then off after a minute or two. When you use it as directed, this is a reliable, excellent iron.

Great all around iron
I ordered this iron a little hesitantly, but have found it to be good on all points. The tip of the sole plate is great in small areas, the steam varies from none to huge amounts of steam, depending on settings. Even steams vertically! The spray and burst of steam work perfectly and there are no buttons to push accidentally. I was hoping it would have a safety shutoff override, but it doesn't. Although I have to say it re-heats quickly and I hardly notice that it was shut off. Saves worry if I may have forgotten to unplug when I leave.

Not ergonomic for arthritic hands
Good overall iron with large water reservoir and smaller pointed front for detail work.Round dial to turn to heat level is tough to grab around the large handle, poor ergonomic design especially for those with small hands or weak grip strength. Also, when ironing, the handle is slightly angled down to the front and the two buttons to spray water or burst steam are smooth with the handle so as the hand slides forward on the handle the buttons are pushed without realizing it - "Why does it spray water while I am ironing?" led to this discovery.

great iron
I am a quilter and iron constantly. With that said, I have purchased many irons, tried out many irons at quilt shows until I finally found this one. It is perfect. It gets hot enough, takes out wrinkles perfectly, is a great steamer, is lightweight, turns off automatically after a certain time- heats back up quickly after not being used for awhile. I'm really happy with this iron - b t w I bought another one for my sister in law. I have even by mistake left it plugged in over night with no issues.

Didn't realize how lousy my old iron was!
When my old iron starting spitting rusty water, I know it was time to replace it. After doing a bit of research, I chose the Rowenta Focus. The features checked all my boxes. It arrived quickly, and I put it to work on some linen tableware. The fact that I can use tap water was a plus, but I did use the R/O water rather than straight tap water. The iron heated fast, feels comfortable in the hand, and has enough weight that the ironing went much more quickly than with my old iron. My only regret is that I did not pay a bit more for a model with a retractable cord. This iron makes quick work of my ironing tasks!

Warranty
This is a great iron, but if you get a defected one your experience will not be a good one.My iron was still under warranty I even purchased the extended warranty. It was leaking burning my clothes and then just stopped working. I contacted the warranty company, but it stl fell under the factory warranty. They don't replace it, you have to send in your iron to a repair shop. This is my most recent email to Rowenta. Let's see if I get a response....12/15/2018 Your iron was defective and now I'm without an iron for an extended period. My experience has not been a good one. It states in the email that I will be receiving an email with a label and instead I received it in the mail. Which is fine just get your facts straight. And then when I emailed you to say I haven't received an email, I didn't get a response back stating its in the mail, no you send me a second label. Again no response. No update, no confirmation of when you received the iron via UPS. My husband and I work in an office setting and iron clothes every day. Where should I send the dry cleaning bill? Please take into consideration an improvement to your customer service. Update: I received my iron back after two months and.... it's still presenting with the same issues. I emailed customer service today. Let's see what they have to say.

Worth the extra money
I had the same Black & Decker steam iron for over 25 years. It removed wrinkles from my clothes but I would not say "effortlessly". When I decided to retire the old B&D and not repair it ...again, I decided to upgrade to the Rowenta Focus. I am very pleased. It removes wrinkles with ease in half the time and so far is well worth the money. This iron is a little heavier than some but it glides along with little effort. I recommend.

Solid clothing iron, but with some drawbacks.
I just got thiand used it once.Positives:-- It has a good size and weight. Feels very solid.-- The steam action is great. My "test" shirt never had it so good.-- The spray and steam buttons are easy to use and seem durable.Negatives:-- My huge disappointment is that the space between the handle and dial is pretty thin. Like, to the point that I keep hitting the temperature dial and moving it a bit.-- It has an initial "smell" when hot. Something like metal mixed with formaldehyde. I hope this goes away.-- The cord could be a bit longer.-- The steam action seems "delayed" when the lever is set to anything besides full on.So, I think this is a good product, but feel as though I'll become increasingly irritated with my hand constantly hitting the temperature dial. If that's the case, I might send it back; life's to short to be angry about a design flaw that makes doing a chore that much harder.I'll edit my review if the iron keeps performing well or if things like the steam action "break in" at some point.
