AmtechW5890 4 Piece 175mm (7") Pro Circlip Plier Set

Good value for money set of pliers, though the brand I received were not Amtech but "Progen Tools". The pliers themselves are what I would describe as "handyman" quality, which is to say perfectly good for someone who does odd jobs or tinkers at the weekend: they have a basic finish and should last forever if not abused. They are not tools of a professional standard, finely machined to close tolerances: for the price you pay it would be unreasonable to expect that. For well under ten quid for a set of four pliers I am very pleased with these, much more user-friendly than the type with interchangeable heads. Delivered quickly, no problems. Recommended at this price level.

For the price they are about as I would expect. They came complete with spots of rust and the machining is very poor quality, or the metal used is. I am not sure which, probably both. Having said that I'm sure they will work fine for the limited use they will get . A useful and cheap addition to the toolkit...

I bought this set to get the bent tip external circlip one to be able to replace the springs in our door handles where the springs had broken due to metal fatigue. DO NOT BUY for this purpose as the tips only just about fit and are not sufficiently accurately made to do this job, as they slip out of the holes. After a bit more research I found that KNIPEX 46 21 A11 Circlip Pliers (ASIN: B0001P0C5M) were a more suitable tool and looked better quality and made in Germany (which I always think is a good thing!). They cost a bit more £18.36 (Dec'16) but you get what you pay for, eh? I have now tested them and they do a great job and in fact I got them for just under four pounds cheaper from RS-online with free next day delivery!

The circlips don’t fly off these like with the really cheap models and they seem fairly sturdy.

Pliers fine. However the package was a return item as one of the pliers must have been used as the the plastic packing was damaged and there were scuff marks on the plier tips.

Worked well but i wouldn't get them if expecting to use them every day all day. Good value for the odd home job.

Fantastic quality, all you could need from circlip pliers. The 4 different types allow you to get into your circlip where you would need to do so. I'm sure in time it will save me an unmeasurable amount of money instead of taking my parts to mechanics/garages and paying for them to pry the circlip out for me. They've already saved me 1hrs labour for a job that is so easy with the right tools. Am-tech may be cheaper than some toolmakers but for my experience they don't lack in the finished products' quality.

I bought these to work on my harley footpegs. They're fine for the larger cerclips but not the smaller ones so now I have to buy some more.Quality seems good though.None of them seem to state sizes for the cerclip holes so it's a lottery really.
