Failed after 20 months, very pleased up until then...
Half of this gadget works brilliantly, but the rest isn't so good. The best bit is the part that attaches to the screen. Mine has been in place for 20 months and hasn't budged, even though it has seen British winter temperatures and 40+ degrees in the south of France for two summers. The whole thing is absolutely solid and there's no vibration whatsoever - so far so good...Unfortunately, the jaws that hold the phone have failed, or at least one half has. The device can be dismantled easily, just a single screw and two clips hold it together. The thing is, there are two tension springs which are just too strong and inevitably one of the small plastic retaining pegs gives up under the strain. If you have a small phone this might not happen, but mine is a phablet and, though it fits fine, it's at the outer limits of the mount's capacity. You quickly find that only one spring does the work - if you insert your phone using one hand, you'll stretch the jaw open by extending just the one side, and, as I said, the springs are really very strong. I'm going to try a repair using plastic metal, so it's fingers crossed. At least the mount can be dismantled...UPDATE: I've disabled the broken slider with Araldite and it's fine, but be careful when doing this. Make sure that the opening is slightly smaller that the smallest device you'll want to mount, and don't be liberal with the adhesive because you'll only end up having to remove any excess - ideally, the glue should sit under/immediately up against the slider. Assembling the mount afterwards, you'll see that any more glue than the minimum will prevent the slider assembly from fitting in the outer case. It's not a disaster if you have to pare away any excess, a Stanley knife does the job.HTH,Pete

My spring has sprung twice : Ley Down.
I love these, however I have had two units fail within a year, I cannot find a way to communicate with the seller and the return window is closed. Surly an item which costs in excess of £20 should have at least a 12 month warranty. My first experience, I put down to bad luck and wrote it off, however the second unit has failed in exactly the same way.It appears that with the continual loading and unloading of the spring arms, one of spring locators breaks off and the spring escapes its captive position rendering the unit useless, and it is a non repairable item.If the seller reads the comments left, I would be most grateful if you would send me a replacement and issue a refund for the first unit. This would be amazing service but as it stands, I am very disappointed with what promised to be an amazing product.Thank you.

Not fit for purpose
1st one was purchased, all was good for 8 weeks then the spring within the cradle that holds the phone broke. To be fair contacted the seller and they issued a refund. Thought I will try this product again, surely it can't go faulty again? To my surprise after another 8 weeks the same fault. I have contacted the seller and they have choose to ignore my email and hence why I am leaving this negative review, which I am genuinely reluctant to do. Please be aware as this item is costly and I am now out of pocket and searching for a new cradle which is fit for purpose.Good service to customers costs nothing surely? Thanks

A* phone holder - unreal sticking power, probably some magic involved.
**** OVERVIEW ****Quite simple, Montar car mount (phone holder) which looks slick and simple but with some magical powers which means that it will not let go on your windscreen even if you want it to, some pretty epic stuff really. Even though one had broke on me.. read on.**** PROS ****Firstly and most importantly how does this hold your phone.. Will it stick for a while then drop one day scaring the life out of you? Will you get in to your car one morning when the inside of the windscreen is wet and when moving off it'll fall off - once again making you jump out of your skin?....Well I can safely report to you with confidence that this thing will hold your phone with no fault.• As seen in the pics the grip holds the phone on either side, it's really non-intrusive.• the grip is very tight, the phone doesn't wobble unlike some cheap ones, it doesn't shake or judder.• the phone is held to the windscreen via some 3M sticky on the holder, so this by itself is crazy sticky, then you push the handle up and it creates a vacuum, this combination is some sort of magic.. it won't fall down, seriously. You'll struggle to get it off your windscreen if you need to move it, it's an effort to move it from my one car to the other.**** CONS ****• The base of the holder is quite large, it's not a subtle thing, but it is where all the action happens in that base, so this can be forgiven.• I have had one break on me before, about 2 weeks ago, I straight away bought another one.. no hesitation, it happened when I was putting my iPhone 6s (for dimensions as it's my normal phone (the iPhone 5s in the pictures is my work phone)) in the holder, you put it in at one side first by pushing it in then the other side clips over, I was pushing it apart like normal and the high tension spring inside seemed to snap, it wouldn't clamp on to my phone then on after.I had had the clamp for about a year and a half, using it everyday probably 6-8 times a day, so it's a workhorse.**** FINAL THOUGHTS ****This is a very good phone holder. Just spend the extra little bit for this decent quality holder and you won't be disappointed. That's all.

Great when it works
Great when it works.I bought two of these and both have broken recently. One was 3 years old, the other 4 1/2 years old. They have been used at most once a month during that time, but nearly always with a iPhone 6+I have taken great care in using them & thought I was getting something that would last, by paying a bit extra. So am quite disappointed and unsure what to buy to replace them with.I've been able to repair one of them, but it will only take smaller phones now.The other appears to have had it.
