96" wide Extra Wide Medium Weight Calico Fabric - per metre

My wife used one metre of this fabric to make 9 rag dolls for our niece and found it a good quality fabric for this purpose.Calico is a little stiff before washing and it tends to shrink quite a bit so she washed the fabric before making the dolls. It's always advisable to wash natural fabrics before spending time sewing an item only to have it shrink and be useless.The fabric is a brighter colour than the photo indicates but not hugely different.It seems to be a sturdy, hardwearing fabric and it's easy to sew by hand and by sewing machine.

Doesn't feel like a natural cotton. Quite disappointing and rather white in colourI use calico a lot in upholstery but this is quite stiff and not comparable withother calicos that I have bought so not meeting my expectations

perfect fabric...I actually used it to handpaint a photography backdrop and it was amazing just like canvas, super material and made things even better having the extra width...will buy again in the near future

The material itself is actully very nice - thick and has a slightly silky feel, but it's not calico. I will buy it again, but as curtain lining rather than calico. I'm an Upholsterer.

This material isn't what I call calico and there where some marks on the fabric but I have managed to around that , as it's sold as perfect and not seconds it should have been checked.
