we have a multitude of brushes that we use to try and tame the fur of our two very fluffy ragdolls however picked this one up to help with the inevitable knots and matts they seem to get.The comb itself is made of a strong plastic with a soft rubber grip and the teeth appear to be made of steel. We've had it a good while now and it's still in one piece and going strong!The steel teeth on the comb are different lengths and useful for brushing though longer fur and pick up a lot of loose hair. it's also great for working on some larger knots they may get however as the teeth are quite widely spaced it's not great for smaller tangles as they just slip in-between the teeth. I'd suggest something with much finer steel teeth like a flea comb for small, fine tangles.I'd suggest this to be used in combination with a soft brush or slicker for overall grooming. This is great for loose long hairs and tangles but for everyday grooming something softer is definitely better... and our cat's seem to prefer that.

My cat loves this comb. She is a long haired cat so grooming is important for her.She tolerates this comb well, the teeth are nicely rounded at the bottom so she is not scratched by them.Its comfortable to hold and does a very good job at removing loose hairs.Would recommend.

Someone reviewed it as one of the most comfy brushing tools for chinchilla persians - thankfull to that person because this really is the only one approved by my little one.

It looks like it might be a thing of torture but it actually works and both my cats now actually accept me using this on them. There is no other comb, brush instrument of torture they will let me anywhere near them with, but this. It took some getting used to as I thought it would be tedious (it was to begin with), but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy. More importantly, it keeps my Siberians mat free and one actually looks forward to me brushing her tummy with it. The other, well he tolerates me using it on him when he's half asleep -which I can live with.

Is a fabulous comb for the cats coats.

Bought this to groom a very fluffy bunny who loves moulting all over the house. Handle is grippy and brightly coloured so easy to find. Comb works well but the bristles themselves are very hard metal and do not flex at all, so if you are using this with smaller animals be aware that you need to be gentle (especially around the bony areas!). It also does not pick up much fine hair at all, so unfortunately I have not used this item since my initial attempt.I feel like this is not suitable for grooming rabbits, however the comb itself is high quality and I imagine would be ideal for long haired cats.

It took a month to arrive but it was worth the wait. I have a Persian who gets terrible mats and hates being groomed. Tried this comb the day it arrived and it did a great job of removing loose hair and with gentle teasing several small mats without her getting upset. The plan is to get her use to gentle daily combing to prevent future large mats from forming.
