Robust sachets. TASTES LOVELY. GOOD texture.
I cycle with a heavy load, over (what I consider to be) medium distances. I haven’t been doing this as much as I’d like but when I do, it isn’t always in clement weather or with much choice of when I go. On occasion I’ve made my journeys in the dark. When the head winds are against me the journeys can be a feat of endurance. These sachets are exactly what I need. Small and robust enough to be carried with me. Not only giving me the lift that I need but helping to keep me safe by keeping me sharp in adverse conditions. They are so nice to ingest that they will also give me cheer and lift my spirits. They are lovely. All in all I feel that these will help me ENJOY my cycling. Getting from A to B quicker is simply a bonus.I find the sachets to be quite robust. The top does tear off reasonably cleanly but with cold wet fingers I might have to use my teeth (actually, I might get the pliers out). A corollary of the fact that the packs are quite tough, is that I’m not worried that anything more than reasonable care will be required to permit me to routinely carry these (in a pannier or something, not my back pocket I might add).I’m a creature of habit and I’m confident that these will be with me for a long time to come (don’t get me wrong I will be eating them not merely carrying them).I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.

Great cola flavour and all bases covered - an excellent energy gel
Though it's the caffeine content that is the big selling point here, these are also great all-round energy gels, too, that give a good, clean carb boost for all kinds of exercise. Each 70g gel packs in 27g of carbs, just 10g of which is sugar, so they're a well-balanced energy source for endurance activities. I've used them both during runs and before lifting sessions, and they definitely make a difference. And that caffeine definitely helps, of course - at 105mg per sachet, there's up to two espresso shots' worth in there, and that's been particularly welcome during morning workouts. Likewise, the added electrolyte content is very welcome when performing energy-intense activities. The cola flavour is great, more than a little reminiscent of Kola Kube sweets. Crucially, it's quite sweet but definitely not a sickly sweet taste. They're actually rather refreshing - exactly what you need mid-session.At the current price point of a little over a pound per sachet, they're decent value considering you have all 'boost bases' covered in each dose, and it's great to have the larger 24 pack size to last a good month or more. I definitely recommend them if you want an all-in-one energy solution for workouts, and especially if you're a fan of that cola taste!

It works!
This could be a one star review.Why?Well... do you like Cola Cubes? Maybe Cola bottles? If mentioning these sweets bring a certain kind of cola-like flavour to mind, then you have an idea what these taste like, which to be honest is not a great deal like Coke or Pepsi. So taste aside what we have is a packet of gel, at 70ml costing £1.30.If you are me you are thinking in terms of mars bars and figuring you can get four for that.So where's the beef?Okay there's no actual beef.Well first is the caffeine hit, which was the second thing I thought about when I tried one of these, after this tastes like really strong cola-cubes - and sweet, so that's the 27g of carbs. And I drink strong coffee from freshly ground beans, so that I noticed this - tells me this is a strongly caffeinated product. So this product is really aimed for distance athletes, who travel light, so not a four pack of Snickers for example, and the sugar and caffeine will help when you are several miles in on top of fell even more miles from anywhere to keep going. The packet opens easily, torn open by teeth, and then straight into the mouth. So, providing you are confident you can get on with a strong sweet cola-like flavour, and need something compact and convenient to give you a boost during distance work - these are good.Equally if you find you don't like the flavour -- you've have spent £32.99 on 24 tubes.Caveat emptor.

Not very pleasant
These energy sachets are a good idea because they contain as much caffeine as a coffee but are far easier to travel with, say to the gym etc. But unfortunately the flavour is not very nice for me, very artificial and bitter. The price is also high so i would rather take a flask of coffee personally.

Good quality
Have tried many gels over the years for both running and cycling, and these are pretty much perfect.Consistency is bang on, not too thin, so they don't go everywhere when you open it. Taste good.Had issues in the past with some brands upsetting my stomach but no issues with these.

Easy to open
I gave these to a friend, she runs a lot!!She tried them this weekend while running the Dewsbury 10K and she did a new PB time. She said they pack is nice and small which makes them easy to carry while running and they are easy to open which means she not distracted during the race. She loved the taste too, nice pleasant cola flavour.Verdict: Seemed to have an effect on my friend's physical ability, as she said, 'Must have given me a boost!'At £1.50 a shot these seem quite good value.
