just applied my 3rd set of gel strip nails, I chose to take enough time before this review so I could properly make a well informed decision about the product!After almost 30 years of not wearing any type of product on my nails, I decided I would try a highly recommended/reviewed mineral powder system (NOT A Dip) that you apply with a sponge tip applicator. This caused severe damage when removing it and It took close to 7 months for my nails to start growing out but they were still unbearably thin with ridges and dents that looked like chunks of nail were missing due to filing/buffing the top in addition to the chemical required to remove the product. I began to think my nails would never see polish/color on them ever again.I read several reviews about the semi-cured gel strips and decided to give it a try. After receiving the kit, I procrastinated and they sat for almost a month before making my first attempt at applying them.I purchased a basic color in addition to the gloss top coat and I already had the UV light from the powder system I had tried previously. I ended up purchasing the remover directly from the Ohora website for when it came time to remove them. The prep pads were dried out and useless and since I didn’t have nail polish remover I ended up using EVERCLEAR (vodka 190proof/95%alcohol)to clean and prep the nails. Application of the gel strips was pretty easy, I have shakey hands (another reason I can’t apply regular polish) but these gave me no problem. The strips made the ridges and dips in my nails seem to disappear and they now looked normal.I used the top coat and cured for 30sx2 and was amazed at how quickly they dried. There was no wait time and I was able to touch them immediately they were dry, not sticky or tacky.After about 6 days they still looked like they had just been applied but I did noticed that a couple of nails had lifted just a bit at the edge and cuticle and started to catch on my hair, so I used a tiny bit of the top coat and applied with a silicone eyeliner tool around just the edges that were lifting and cured and this took care of the issue.On around day 10 I was impressed that my nails still looked very good but now that my nails looked so good with color I wanted to see another color and I also wanted to see if the removal was as easy and would leave the nails in good condition or if they would be left damaged.I started the removal process by trying to lift a small area of the gel strip from the nail in order to work the removal liquid under. I had watched a few YouTube tutorials on removal and saw that dental floss picks could be used to work in the remover under the strip. This suggestion worked perfectly, and even though I wanted to work slowly as to not damage the natural nail, the nail strip came off cleanly with no damage whatsoever to the nail. After removing all of the strips, i added a drop of remover to the top of each nail and thoroughly cleaned them with a microfiber towel to ensure all of the adhesive was removed. I was very pleased with the result, no damage and the nails appeared to be in much better shape than when I first applied the gel strips. After washing my hands and nails I applied Ohora’s nail oil and waited until the next day to re apply another set of strips.The 2nd set of strips went just as smoothly as the first and I left these on for around 5 days and wanted to remove these to see if there would be any issue removing them after just a short time having them on. The removal went smoothly and the nails were healthy. I applied the 3rd set of strips from the original set and I plan on experimenting after 1 weeks time with applying some of the mineral powder on top of the strips to enhance the color and see if the powder will be compatible with the gel strips. Once I’ve done this, I will update this review. In the meantime, I love these strips, they saved my nails and I am very pleased with the product, I will be using these again and definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for an alternative to gel polish/regular polish.

These chipped and cracked and popped off, at least one every day. They look lovely but there is something wrong with them, never had these problems with ohora before

Ohora nails are fantastic when they work. Application is not "quick and easy" like they advertise but much easier than painting for someone like me with bad coordination. They turn out beautiful and I've even been asked where I got my nails done. More importantly, they're strong and protect my nails. It definitely takes trial and error to get the right application and removal process. I really recommend the "ohora & other semi-cured nails" Facebook group for advice! When I take my time and baby them for the first 12 hours I get around 10 days out of a set. After that I start losing nails but I'm also getting annoyed by the growth so that works out about perfect for me.Pictures: N Sansoo, N Mulberry , N Dancing Flower, N Olivia, N Bare Brick (with the defect described below). Amazon has several different listings with the different colors. The split doesn't seem to have any logic to it.The bad - 1. Groups of sets have had a factory defect where the clear part separates from the color. This is supposed to be fixed now so I wasn't even going to leave a review about it, but a set I bought last week off Amazon still had it - so they are still in the mix of stock.2. Be sure to open and check sets you buy off Amazon before the return window closes. There's been a lot of talk of people getting used sets, the wrong color, etc.

I really love these colors and in general the color range that this brand has. I have tried other gel strips and loved them so was happy to find these fun colors. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on the colors. Unfortunately these nails break super easily. I put them on 2 days ago and have already had to replace 3 nails after they chipped and broke off. It’s nice that the pack comes with extras but I don’t think they’ll last longer than a week, and that’s WITH having to constantly replace the broken ones. I haven’t had this problem with gel strips before so unfortunately I think it’s just the brand.

I have been wearing this brand for years, but this is my first time purchasing from Amazon and not directly from ohora. The first image is from 10/21/24 and I applied the nails the night before. The other images are from 11/4/24. I learned that you have to cure multiple times. I generally cure 3 times and my nails usually last 2-3 weeks. I’m a working mom that washes dishes daily, cooks and cleans. I don’t feel limited in what I can do while wearing these. The only downside side is when they get older sometimes they snag my hair, but other than that no complaints. These are great for the price. I get two manicures from one pack.

Back in July I ordered these and it blew my mind how great they looked and how easy it was to apply. As well as them lasting me for 3wks at a time!... but then when I reordered them, I saw they changed their packaging. (Original order on the right, new packaging on the left) this time, the clear layer on top almost IMMEDIATELY comes off once I begin to file the nail to the shape I want. Never had this issue with the ones in the original packaging. I'm so unhappy with this change. It's extremely embarrassing when you're at work and you suddenly have the complete top of your nail come off. Even brushing on a gel top coat doesn't stop it from separating and falling off. If it wasn't for the initial order being so fantastic, I would rate this 1 star.

These were adorable and easy to apply. Just make sure your nails are TOTALLY clean from oils and lotion before applying, and avoid water for as long as possible after application or they can start to lift.

Despite following instructions, more than half the nails had fallen off within 24 hours. Also top layer on both thumbs is separating already by day 3. Previous gels lasted 3 weeks. Extremely disappointed considering how much they cost.
