Rubbish
Waste of time and money, these don't work and I can't return as apparently past the return date.

Handy items
These are ideal little items. I’ve used one similar for years to reseal partially used bags of salad leaves, etc. These seem we’ll finished and durable. Ordered as small stocking fillers for some family members, such as my partner’s niece who’s just moved into student digs.

A short story on the good, a little longer on the bad.
These are actually quite good when they work, however after a few uses they tend to show evidential wear and tear, to which the little heating button tends to get stuck in the on position and will melt all the surrounding plastic, even with the safety guard switched over it. It's a good thing the device shorted itself out, because there is a potential of being a fire hazard if for example, it got thrown in a kitchen drawer and the button sticks down, to the point of where it ignores the items surrounding it. I would "recommend" purchasing one of the long strip plastic bag sealers, which sell for £18.99 on Amazon Prime and can be powered down by the mains, so you don't have to worry about your house burning down and you'll get the job done more efficiently.

Sandwhich the pieces of plastic on to a folded piece of paper to make it work better
I've had a portable plastic sealer before and from consistent trial and error, you need to know how to handle it to make it work. This model heats up very quickly and gives off more power, meaning, it can melt the plastic easier compared to the previous one I had.Like my previous experience, you need to sandwhich the pieces of plastic in between a folded piece of paper (to stabilize the plastic) and either 1)smoothly glide the sealer, or 2)individually punch/pressing on the sandwiched pieces to make a series of small seals. You also need to control the amount of strength you use when you press the seal together.I was using cellophane for my project, which is a very, very thin type of plastic. Also, take note that my previous sealer was never able to burn my paper, this one however, did.

You get what you pay for.
It works you just have to be patient and go real slow to make a good deal.
