I bought this tarp as a footprint for a large tent. I think it will do fine for that purpose. I also wanted a second hammock tarp. The price and ratings greatly influenced the purchase. That and I could not find a footprint to fit my tent except for this one. For the price this is a keeper. I also own a DD 3x3 and think it is fair to let others know about it. The DD is three times the tarp but three times as expensive. It has reinforced corners, additional stitching and 9 additional tie-downs; these help reduce fluttering in winds when used as a hammock tarp. The DD fabric is also heavier. DD includes acceptable stakes and cordage; honestly I would use other cordage and stakes. The Gold Armour does not come with cordage and stakes, so don't forget to purchase them. If you have three times the money, buy the DD. Now in all fairness, this tarp should last a long time if used properly. It's fabric and stitching appear to be quite suitable and durable. I am buying a second Gold Armour since I need three hammock tarps in the immediate future. I can wait on two more DDs when they fit the budget. I recommend the Gold Armour as a nice alternative to more expensive tarps.

I haven't used this tarp yet, but my first impressions are very positive (I only gave 4 stars because I haven't tested the tarp yet, I may update that in the future). I have been using outdoor equipment for well over 50 years and I have tested a lot of products over the decades. For the price(US$18.99 at the time of purchase 10/01/22), this tarp is a great buy. I purchased the 84"x84" OD Green version as I was looking for a smaller lightweight tarp to put in an emergency "GHB" that I keep in my vehicle at all times. I wanted something that in case of lose or theft wasn't too expensive and that was lightweight for that particular kit. I believe this tarp will fill that role quite well. It comes with a much larger stuff sack than really required, but it provides the option to carry extra guy lines or cordage and some stakes within it if a person so chose to do so. The tarp actually rolls up to be quite small(about the size of a 16oz./20oz. water bottle). A person could easily fit two of these tarps into the provided stuff sack. As for the quality, I would say that it is good. I found no loose threads, no un-taped seams or loose seam taping, and the stitching seems to be good. With that said it is not of DD Hammocks or Aqua-quest quality or construction, but then it is also only a fraction of the price of even the smallest tarps offered by those makers. If you are looking for an inexpensive, lightweight tarp for an emergency kit or to use occasionally, I would recommend this tarp. I was impressed enough with this tarp that I went ahead and purchased two more, one for a friend and one as a spare.PROS: Inexpensive, made with decent construction and materials, lightweight, taped seams, waterproof, the OD Green version is true to color.CONS: It could use more tie-out loops along the edges, at the very least one at the center of each of the 4 sides side. The seam taping could have been a little wider for better coverage over the seam. The fabric covering the edge of the tarp is thin and single stitched, it should have been double stitched.All in all, and for the price this is a good, inexpensive, lightweight tarp.

This arrived yesterday. I have not had an opportunity to use it yet, but I did spread it out to make sure it was what I expected - and it was.This appears to be very durable while also being light weight at the same time. The seams are well stitched and the tie-downs appear strong and are placed at a proper angle. It also came in a very nice stuff sack for when not in use.My only issue is the size. What I need is 96" x 96". I ordered this in 84" x 96" as this was the footprint that is closest to that size in what appeared to be a high-quality ground tarp.I measured it today and found that it is 84" x 94". The difference is not enough to complain about and I think it will still work nicely with my tent.What would really be great would be if the company would increase the number of size options. For example, their photo showing dimensions shows that the footprint could be 96" long, and it also shows that the footprint could be 96" wide - the exact size I need. But that was not an option, so I had to go with the closest match.Over all, a pretty good product.

The media could not be loaded.  I don't write many reviews, but I felt like this tarp deserved one.I lost my original tarp on the trail and just ordered another 10'x12'This thing has saved us countless times in the Idaho backcountry and has kept us dry in extreme rain and snow conditions with a little creativity on our part.I carry this in my pack in case the weather changes quickly and also sleep under it when I am spiking out looking for elk or wolves.This is easily the best $30 I have spent on hunting equipment and allows me to stay ultralight while providing me with a reliable shelter.There are more expensive options out there, but I can personally say this is the best value for your money, is lightweight and won't let you down when things go sideways in a hurry.

For the money you cant do better. It is NOT ''cheaply'' made. I can take it anywhere with confidence.

Works great for a tent footprint. Some ground moisture did make it into the tarp, but was mostly fine. Would get another if needed.Very light and small when packed away.Great value.

I needed a tarp for inside my new tent and to cover my gear in the car and they both worked perfectly (84x84). My only issue with the tarp is that there are a number of loose threads on the binding stiching. Will probably buy different sizes of this tarp in the future because of the great cost. Really like the feel of these tarps and the compact way they fold up into the included bag.

Fairly lightweight and compact amd easy to set up

Loops for pegs make it easy to install tent on top without moving the tent print. Used in the fall, so far so good

Firstly, there are other reviews and do agree with some, so ensure to read all reviews. This tarp is a great option to have available in your camping systems. I find that the construction is not that bad and yet affordable. The item shed water well however, when it rained all day, the edges and straps became wet. Also, once the straps become wet, the threading becomes a potential place for unwanted pressure on the material. Additional corner V stitch would take care of that. Most importantly, it will keep you dry for the most part, the seams and thread will become soaked and will be wet, but in the sun will dry quickly. Overall I am happy with this footprint, and with a little extra work seam sealing, this item will last many trips in the Canadian far north.

Can be used as a tent footprint or as an emergency shelter in the rain when backpacking or as a shelter cover for sleeping in a hammock or without a tent...Great quality and size is perfect. Packs up very lightweight into a small bag that fits well in my pack. Used it for camping recently and it rained all night, kept my tent and entrance area dry, really happy with it!
