Did not work with Ubuntu, OSX or Windows 7.
I use USB console cables daily. I purchased two of these to use on my Ubuntu 19.04 laptop and Macbook pro. While it added the device to /dev/ttyUSB0 read and write did not work properly and left a blank screen.Tried putting it into a Windows 7 laptop too with putty, drivers installed automatically and a com port was assigned. This too was left blank. Inspecting the pinout it was different to my other console cables so I match the colours and re-crimped. - nothing. Purchased a different brand, boom console first time. Tried pulling down the latest linux drivers from the chip manufacture and compiling them, once compiled you are directed to run a couple of test files to confirm RW is working, these also failed. I am assuming these are FT232RL copy and not genuine.

Works out of box, no problem, finds drivers, good quality. If you have a doubt - if ths is going to be good console cable for my cisco router - take it! Worth to have it rather than old serial adapter!!

It's not proper Cisco Blue!
No problems under High Sierra, Debian 9 or Win 10, and it sure is a little more convenient to carry around that the stock Cisco cable AND USB-->DB9 adapter.

Simple, Works, Perfect
Quality cable, used to connect to console port on Cisco switches. Windows 10 auto installed driver did not work, but FTDI from manufacturer’s website worked immediately and perfectly.
