Love this thing. I have never had the “real” apple pencil but from what I understand this does everything the apple pencil does except the charging on the side of your ipad depending on iPad model. Charging is quick ~5min however if you are a student and need to be able to continuously take notes for long periods of time I recommend buying 2 so you have a backup if one dies mid class. I have done this my past 3 years of college and it has worked out great for me. The two apple pencil dupes I have still cost me less that the official apple pencil too so I am very happy with my purchases.

I purchased this for my 10 year old daughter’s birthday and she loves it. Synched easily to her iPad (she didn’t need my help at all !) she’s using it for her games and texting. Great alternative to more expensive choices.

This pencil is not pressure sensitive, and it doesn't do gestures (like tapping on the side of the pencil) but it's a pretty decent sub in-stylus in place of an apple pencil. I've purchased two for my spouse and I.As a word of warning, if you have the matte textured screen protector for the iPad, you will go through stylus tips quite quickly, especially if you have a toddler who likes to color on the coloring apps. But the tips aren't too expensive.No pairing needed. Does not work on iPhones, but it does work on the following of our iPads:- iPad 6th Generation- iPad Mini 6th Generation- iPad 10th GenerationDoes not work on iPad Mini 2
